Twisted Wolf, also known as The Wolf, is one of the four twisted animatronics and an antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's: The Twisted Ones. It was created by William Afton to hunt down and kill Charlotte Emily.

Physical Appearance[]

Twisted Wolf is a misshapen wolflike figure with a sleek snout[1] and usually stooped over.[2] When Charlie first encounters it, she finds it in the middle of shifting forms.[3] Twisted Wolf's normal appearance is a tattered metal framework, partly coated in rubbery translucent skin. Its eyes are stark white bulbs. Twisted Wolf's chest splits open with tooth-like ribs folding outward. When its illusion discs are active, it appears as a groomed and agile figure covered in silver hair. Twisted Wolf has a silver wolf's mane that runs over top of its head and down its back.[4][5] It also has shining blue eyes,[6] claws, and long, silken ears.[7]

In the official teasers, Twisted Wolf is depicted as in the middle of changing forms. The right side of its body more closely resembles a wolf, being very furry and with its silver mane running over the top of his head and down its back, and the right hand and right foot being smaller. The left side however, is more robotic, with a visible endoskeleton, rubbery translucent skin, a wider left eye socket, and spikes protruding from its left arm.

History[]

The wolf, TTO: Graphic Novel.

The wolf is first seen by Charlie in Chapter 8. Clay Burke was in his police car along with Charlie, John, and Jessica, who were all taking a nap. He watches from afar the mounds that were made by the twisted animatronics that the teenagers discovered in a women's backyard, as one of them was housed by Twisted Freddy. Tired of waiting, he decides to go and check on the mounds. This awakens Charlie, and she wakes up John and Jessica so they can accompany her. To their surprise, the mounds were gone. Clay runs back to the car, and Charlie tries to catch up but she suddenly hears a high-pitched scream. She then sees the wolf, who stares at her for a moment, then spasmed alarmingly with his chest splitting open. A woman fell from inside him. The wolf then heads into the woods, disappearing into the dark. Clay approaches from behind Charlie and tries to assist the woman, who was still alive, while John and the others get help.

In Chapter 13, after Twisted Freddy got shot several times by Clay, the wolf appeared in a corridor along with Twisted Bonnie. As the twisted animatronics were slowly approaching the group, getting ready to attack, they were stopped by Springtrap. Later, the wolf and Twisted Bonnie chase Charlie, John, Jessica, and Clay around the underground pizzeria. They head directly for a passage beneath the cliff where the waterfall starts. The group stares at the two twisted animatronics, so they can cross through the river to destroy them, but that didn't work, since they're water-resistant. Clay then had the idea to ignite the water with gasoline, since there were gas cans nearby. Even though the wolf and Twisted Bonnie survived, they were heavily damaged.

After Charlie left to find Springtrap, Clay, Jessica, and John were cornered by the twisted animatronics. The wolf attempted to attack them but was subsequently destroyed by Foxy.

Trivia[]

  • A wolf animatronic was originally intended to appear in the first Five Nights at Freddy's game before ending up scrapped, as revealed in Dawko's interview with Scott Cawthon on the franchise's 4th anniversary.[8] This concept was possibly reused for Twisted Wolf.
  • Concept art of Twisted Wolf revealed that his right eye was originally going to be pale green while his left eye would be red, and his appearance would be much more divided between robotic and organic.
  • Twisted Wolf made few cameos in the main game series outside of the novel universe:
  • The wolf is the first animatronic in the novel series so far to never truly be named. Throughout The Twisted Ones, he is only referred to as "the wolf", not even capitalized.
    • It should be noted that Golden Freddy was the first unnamed character to appear in the series, with Golden Freddy only starting out as a fan name for the character, later officialized in Five Nights at Freddy's 2. However, Wolf has gone for an extended amount of time without a true name, even being referred to as Wolf on multiple pieces of merchandise.
