Hi folks! Welcome to our weekly recap of Masters of the Universe: Revelation. This week’s episode is named “The Forge at the Forest Forever,” that’s right, we finally at the mid-season finale, and everything comes together here, Will our heroes save Eternia? Let’s dive right in!

1. Trapped in heaven

Last episode Orko (seemingly) died and Adam was on Preternia, this episode begins with Adam, decorating his passed friend’s gravestone, he remembers him as loyal, Teela as kind, and Evelyn as a fool.

Then, Adam welcomes them to Preternia, where they are basically trapped because there is no way out from here, but there might be a possibility, so while Andra and the rest of the team search for He-Ro to re-forge the two swords, together, Adam and Teela must look for King Grayskull to find a way back to the realm of the living.

The tension between the two is clear, Adam tried to apologize but Teela still has a lot to process, she feels hurt by Adam, because she could not mourn his death, she felt that she did not really know him, because of the double life that he had.

2. A Tower as a Forge

The rest of the team meets He-Ro, they devise a way to re-forge the Sword of Power, Roboto uses his reactor along with the rest of Evil-Lyn’s magic, to activate the forge. He manages to do so, but is seriously damaged by the explosion, in his last moments before dying he expresses happiness and asks his sister to inform his father, Man-At-Arms that he achieved more than he imagined when I have built his son.

Roboto is a miracle, because he is afraid of dying, which means that he does have feelings, he is more than just a machine. This is a very moving moment where he says goodbye to Teela. Roboto’s interactions on the show were brief, but still, the writers managed to give us a very special and emotive arc with him.

3. The wild hunt

While the team transformed the Central Tower into a forge, Adam and Teela participated in The Wild Hunt, along with other Preternian legends such as Kuduk, the ancient sorceress; Vikor, based on Mark Taylor’s concept art for He-Man; Wundar, the brown haired version of He-Man, who appeared in Wonder Bread; and King Grayskull, Eternia’s first protector.

Teela and He-Man use flying discs to outrun all the ancient heroes and show that they are still capable of having fun, and they teamwork excellently, and that’s because they are still friends even though their relationship is damaged by what happened, they have not stopped being part of the same team.

At the end of the hunt, King Grayskull wins by catching the beast, and they celebrate at a party, where he tells Teela that when the heroes arrive in Preternia they can choose how to look, and Adam has been the only one who chose his “lesser self,” and I think that’s because he sees himself as Adam, rather than He-Man, his real version is the weak but honest “flea.”

That makes Teela feel even more conflicted, she knows that in order to heal she must forgive him, but it’s hard to process the fact that she was abandoned by him, while he kept his secret from her.

4. Feed Nature, become Nature

In this conflict, Adam discovers that Eternia is losing her magic, and he can’t let that happen but you don’t know if he should go back, he doesn’t even know if that’s possible.

Moss Man has a brief appearance to reflect with Adam on the meaning of life, and after a few beautiful words convinces him to return with the rest of the team to the world of the living, to help bring the magic back.

5. The Master of the Universe

When they finally arrive at Grayskull Castle, Adam begins to speak his war cry, causing the magic to slowly return, but he is stabbed by Skeletor, who was hiding within Evelyn’s staff.

Then Skeletor yells “I have the power!” and becomes Skelegod, the Master of the Universe. And so the episode ends, and we will have to wait a few months to see the second part and the outcome of this story.

6. The Fans

This episode had a lot of fanservice, bringing in heroes who have appeared very briefly on television, in comics, and as action figures; we even had the all-powerful version of Skeletor at the end. Throughout these five chapters we had a lot of action, interesting stories, a bit of social criticism, and even very emotional moments.

So why the hell were the old fans angry? Well, in truth, because not many of the critics are actually real fans, but that air of conservatism did a lot of damage to the perception of the show even before it came out. When seeing the cast revealed and the first synopsis, many people were dissatisfied, arguing about “wokeness”. The truth is that it is obvious that his annoyance was more directed at the casting of actors of color and female actors, racism and misoginy. It is very outrageous that people who had not even seen the show, because not even the trailer was out, were outraged by things that they perceive as bad.

Truly, this is one of the best series I have seen in the year, it was very entertaining to watch and I honestly did not expect it to have the quality that it has, but there are times when people decide to create conflicts instead of simply enjoying something or not watching it because which is not for them as key demographics.

Why can’t they just enjoy something or stop watching it? What is the purpose of leaving hate messages to the cast and creators? Why in the world do you enjoy making the community even more divided?

Kevin James said it best:

If by “woke” folks mean the female characters have agency, then Revelation is exactly as woke as the cartoon to which our series is a spiritual sequel: because Teela & Evil-Lyn were in every ep, fighting alongside He-Man & Skeletor. And Sorceress is more powerful than all of ‘em.

By the way, don’t even show them the newly released trailer (just yesterday) for the kids-focused show He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, it looks great, although very different to the original, so they will probably lose their shit even more.

And that’s it for this episode, I sincerely loved it and cannot wait for the new episodes. What did you think of this one? Leave your comments below and join us very soon for the second part of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, no release date yet, in the meantime, I’m gonna watch Kevin Smith’s event “He-Man Beyond.”
