Mr. O'Connor was my high school physics teacher. His passion for teaching and his ability to explain the inner workings of the universe around us was inspirational. I remember his kindness, patience, and warm attitude towards students like myself who were yearning to understand the beauty of physics. I vividly remember how appreciative he was to be awarded a teaching award one year, it was heartwarming to see. I'm now a Ph.D. student, and have Mr. O'Connor to thank for inspiring me to pursue a career in physics. My first mentor, you will forever be missed. My thesis will be dedicated to you.

Pat was adventurous and always in team sports shirts - his collection matched each of his grandkids´ teams & his own favorites. Pat encouraged me to run the Cherry Blossom with him, which turned into several races for me later. PopPop Pat lived life right.

I had Mr. O'Connor as my high school physics teacher at Sherwood high back in the 1990s. He went above and beyond to help his students succeed. In my senior year he volunteered to teach an extra class so myself and a handful of others could take AP physics (this is a bigger deal than it sounds). His dedication to the subject and his ability to gain my interest in it was a big part of me becoming a successful engineer. I'm not sure if I'd be where I am today without him. He was a great man and teacher. He will be missed.
