It's right next door, and a great addition to your day or weekend. Consider it Sawdust's quieter cousin. It's all under cover, out of the sun, and on even ground, so it's easier for those with mobility issues. Most importantly, the art on display is incredible, and with less noise and fewer people, it's easier to talk with the artists. It's also cheaper -- grab a brochure at the info desk for $2 off your ticket, which is then good for the entire season. - G Y3 contributionsI used to visit Peter Blake Gallery back when I was a college student at UC Irvine. I recently made a return visit and I was so pleased to see that this gallery is still one of the loveliest stops in Laguna Beach. Despite being a frequent visitor of Southern California museums and galleries, I had never seen works by Lita Albuquerque or Peter Alexander in person until I visited this gallery. It's so special to see works by historic California artists like these with the California coastline just a few blocks away. On my recent visit, I was able to view the solo exhibition of Stephanie Bachiero's sculptures, so the gallery also features artists outside the CA Light & Space generation. I especially appreciate the way exhibitions are consistently curated at this gallery (as opposed to the vast majority of Laguna Beach galleries that feature salon-style exhibitions, which feel over-crowded to me).
