    Panda Eyes
The zoo is really spacious, plenty of walking and well kept gardens between enclosures. We went to see the pandas which were somehow entertaining even when asleep. The teen also massively enjoyed the petting zoo where she got to feed the goats. It's good value for money and well worth a visit

    Fun for everyone!
My fiancé and I are in our late 20's and I can confirm that this zoo is not just for kids! There are so many animals within the zoo and the layout is amazing, giving you lots to see and do. We ended up spending over 4 hours in the zoo and were able to see everything, but we had to rush the last half an hour as we had a spa appointment, so I would recommend giving yourself lots of time to properly explore. Particular highlights for me were the petting zoo, the pandas, capybaras and the seals. Although I loved all of it! I would definitely recommend a visit when you're in the area

    Good Zoo Visit for 20Euro
We visited Berlin Zoo on our last day in Berlin before heading to the airport, we spent about 3 hours there and it was quieter than we expected for a Friday which was good. I can see where people are coming from with the comments about small enclosures, but the animals looked content. The giant panda exhibit was very impressive and there was plenty of shady benches for a rest from the sun. I would recommend a visit here especially for the price of 20euro pp, you can see why the zoo's in the UK are more expensive though as they have much more space.

Lovely, but didn't get to see the tiger or the lion...
Not to be "that" person, but: I was very excited to see the big cats, but I didn't get to see any of them; except the leopard. It was raining, so he was hiding, which is understandable, of course! The thing is - the tiger(s), the lions and all the other big kitties were nowhere to be found. And there was no explanation or warning beforehand...I understand if it just happened that day, but it seems like maybe it has been like this for a few weeks, or even months now. The zoo could have said something about this on their website...

A great zoo, but the staff treatment is not good
Came on a fairly warm day and pleasantly surprised at how it wasn’t as busy! We got there at 12 or so and stayed until 5:30 looking around, we didn’t even get to see everything (but we had seen enough!) Definitely go and see the gorilla feeding if you can, it was amazing and the gorillas are so active! Our highlights were the pandas, gorillas and the capybaras (do go to the separate area with the kangaroos and capybaras when it gets quieter, it was very peaceful) We were however disappointed at the lack of polar bears, due to all the statues of them and they’re advertisement on the website. I understand not having them due to the issue had however many years ago, but the enclosure is still there and not done anything with, grass and everything is now growing to show how long it’s been abandoned and it’s just an eyesore in the middle now. All the old signage is still up so they really need to change it or bring them back! I did however take issue with the really rude staff!! We are English and only speak the odd few German phrases. To be polite, we tried to order from one of the burger van places by the monkeys in German, and were met with snickers and laughs and mocking us (they were talking German to each other but I picked out English and Tourist) Absolutely awful treatment of a customer and that’s before we even get to the €5 small portion of chips. It was a good day all things considered, but the staffing really needs upgrading.

    Excellent Experience
Best zoo we have visited, that includes Shanghai and Safari Parks. The animals have lots of room area and outside space foe every species. Visitors can go into areas where the animals are indoors, top to bottom windows. Even the hippo in the water, never been so close to such a huge beast. It started raining whilst we were there but the animals were still on show. Not a lot of staff about to help with directions etc. but those we did meet were very good. Plenty of refreshment places too, made it a great experience. Give yourself 3-4 hours to enjoy everything.

    I love this zoo!
I loved it here! We walked from our hotel nr the Bradenburg gate right through the park first thing in the morning. We left at 8am and got there bang on 9 when it opened, it was such a nice walk and would strongly recommend doing it if you can. We booked online the night before so managed to bypass the ticket office. Head straight to the gate by the aquarium and they scan the pass on your phone and give you a map. We spent about 4 hours there but could have spent most of the day easily. The animals were all really active and looked happy. Out of all of the zoos I’ve been to wordwide, I’ve never seen so many staff cleaning the cages, feeding the animals, looking after the grounds etc. really clean and tidy park with good enclosures. We managed to see the pandas being fed as soon as we arrived and they were so cute and funny! The giraffes and elephants were all out in the sun and it was really nice seeing them all outside. There’s so many places to stop for a drink and food. The best locations are at the back near the wolves, a really nice restaurant with a huge menu and the food all looked incredible. We sat outside the bird enclosure with a coffee and it was really relaxing and quiet, with great service from everyone across the park. Really would recommend! There’s a nice history section in the indoor area where the giraffes are that tells you all about the history of the park and we thought that was interesting to know. Thanks for a great visit!

Worth the entry fee, combine with an aquarium ticket as it exceeded our expectations.
This zoo is massive. Even when busy it did not feel too crowded as it was big. Animals seemed well cared for. I would not recommend visiting first thing as most of the animals were asleep/ not out. We left and returned later in the morning and it was far better. There is a lot of walking so perhaps younger children may need a buggy for when they get tired!

    Animal Magic
Daughter wanted to visit as we had been some z13yrs before. Although not laid out with a fail proof ‘route’ the zoo is immaculately presented with a good range of Animals. We thoroughly enjoyed the wander through different areas and the giraffes were a highlight. The price was very reasonable and definitely better value than the equivalent in the UK.

Great zoo with fab playground for kids
An amazing zoo!! Great selection of animals and very clean! Great selection of snacks and drinks and cafes. We were particularly impressed with the amazing playground in the middle which the kids had to be coaxed out of after an hour! The best playground we’ve ever been to!

Has a very nice selection of animals, and they seem to have plenty of space. Most of the animal signs also had English, but there were a few missing. A few done sides though, many of the enclosures did not have the animals in. But there was no way of knowing until you got there. One whole section was closed off, not sure if its being renovated or is permanently closed. The reptile house is now part of the aquarium, which you have to pay extra for (apparently both are quite small and not worth the money,so I didn't bother). I would recommend going in the off season because I imagine this place gets very crowded. But seeing elephants playing kind of made up for all that.

I thoroughly enjoyed my walkabout around the zoo - it is a quiet oasis, peppered with some interesting animals. Unfortunately the big cat enclosure was being renovated, the Polar bears were hiding and the Panda exhibit was too busy and required queuing and as time was short this was not an option. Highlights included watching a mother rhino play with a juvenile in a rough and tumble kind of way, a miniature penguin fly through the water, small pack of snow white Hudson Wolves looking incredibly beautiful. the giraffes looking very regal and relaxed, the elephants a little neurotic churning up the mud in a repetitive zombie style, the zebras looking larger than I remembered from the TV :) and a lonesome European bear (the symbol of Berlin) completely ignored.

I visited the zoo in Berlin before the lockdown. It was an unimaginably beautiful trip. The zoo facilities have been beautifully designed. Just a walk through the animal enclosures is a worthwhile visit. They have brought the nature to the heart of Berlin. Amazing!
In addition, the facility was very well maintained and clean. What I really loved is the giant animal diversity. Maybe the enclosures could be a little bigger, especially the one for the carnivores seems very small. However I had the feeling that the animals are otherwise well in the zoo.
Unfortunately the entrance was a bit expensive and the aquarium costs extra. The restaurants were very expensive too and not really delicious. The gate impressed me, it is called „Elephant Gate“. It was so big and detailed, a real eye- catcher! I liked the pandas the most.
Finally I can say a visit to the zoo Berlin is extrem worthwhile, but you have to take something to eat and to drink and it is better to use public transport, because the parking spaces are extremely expensive.

We decided to visit the zoo for the pandas. We made a bee line for the pandas first which was a good thing because we only had to queue for 10 minutes and later the queue got a lot longer. The pandas are lovely but obviously because a lot of people want to see them you are kept moving so see them for a few seconds. The rest of the zoo was undergoing a lot of modernisation so a lot of the animals were missing (all the big cats and the kangaroos and everything over the bridge) the zoo will definitely be better for the enclosure upgrades because some of the animals did look a little sad. However the highlight for me was the hippos I’ve never seen a hippo in real life and the aquarium tank let’s them swim right next to you. Honestly watching them was the best part of my trip to Berlin (I’m not going to let me oh know that though because I kept banging on about the culture!)

Our hotel (SO/ Berlin Das Stue) overlooked part of the zoo so it was very convenient for a visit here. The animal enclosures are well spaced out to spend a good 2-3 hours wandering round. For a different perspective I would recommend a window seat with a few drinks at the Monkey bar (part of the 25hours hotel)

We went to Berlin Zoo for an afternoon day trip. The zoo was very quiet as we visited in january and quite a few of the enclosures were under construction so we didn't get to see the giraffes or lions which was a shame.

The zoo itself is huge and is very well landscaped and maintained by the people who work there. We bought entry to the aquarium which was one of my favourite places in the zoo. They have a huge selection of fish, amphibians and insects.

Well worth a visit!

While my title may seems as if I am an extreme vegan who would protest with extinction rebellion it may come as a surprise that I am in fact a farmer who is well used to the welfare and husbandry of animals.

I was in the zoo on a very warm day which would leave many people sunburnt following a day in the sun. The animals looked visibly distressed whether this was due to having little shade to hide in and the extreme heat or for other reasons.

The enclosures themselves seemed tiny compared to other zoos I have been to (Sydney, Dublin etc) for such huge animals and the zoo itself was quite difficult to navigate and was poorly laid out.

Strangely enough there was little barriers between people and the zoo and ones which the parade animals could easily escape into the crowds, can wild animals be tamed enough through ethical means (without drugs or abuse)?

The aquarium was only accessible by leaving the zoo and entering through another street side entrance which gives the appearance it is closed.

Purchase tickets in advance to skip the queue, people online tickets can go straight to the gate while those queueing for a ticket must form a line to the left along the wall

We got to the zoo late on the day and found that the animal enclosures would shut at 4.00pm. Most animals inside and we had to rush around to get to see them. Small zoo but worth a visit if only to see the Pandas.

We might have been here at the wrong time of the year as most animals was inside their houses and not outside in their enclosures.
Anyway a very nice Zoo with a lot to see. We are both interested in animals and photography and here we could get plenty of both.
We missed many animals as they were kept inside but even so, we strolled around for 5 hours here including the aquarium which is also well worth to visit.
Not only the animal lovers will like this place as it is at the same time a great park to walk around in. Some good restaurants are also to be found inside the Zoo.

Having been to a couple of zoos in Europe this one is particularly good.
Animals seem happy, areas are clean and there is lots to see!
Some construction work is ongoing to expand the enclosures so some parts are closed.
Still a good day trip
