Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology Reviews
Rating 3.47 out of 5 59 reviews
My school is one that faces many challenges. Whether it be the student body, or the parents, Southfield A&T has a lot of issues. There are constant disciplinary actions that need to be taken and the facility could use a face lift. Despite these problems there are things that are admirable about the school. There are multiple clubs that students are allowed to join that expose them to different experiences. We are housed right next to the Southfield Fire Station which allows students to apply and take part in the Fire Academy. This programs gives students the opportunity to become firefighters right out of high school. There are other programs for students to takes place in that give them a chance to learn their hobbies and their future career paths. So even though Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology has a lot of things that can turn you away, there are multiple aspects that will draw you in and create a comfortable learning environment.
I want to see the administration not focus on just the bad of the school and for them to look more into the smarter kids. They have come up with more remedy's for the bad kids rather than rewarding the good ones and the good ones start to think "well dang what am I even working for", I just think they good ones need a little more recognition before they stop to care
I've been attending this school for 3 years in-person. It has not changed, but instead has gotten worse. Administration does not listen to the student's who actually care. And for the vast majority who doesn't, they receive all the attention. Good students are ignored, and the bad students get special treatment. It's unfair.
