Kathryn Newton recently compared playing Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to her latest role in the new horror film Abigail. According to the actor, there are some major differences between the genres.

Speaking to CinePop, Newton revealed that working on Quantumania was much easier. "[Abigail] was, physically, actually harder than Ant-Man," she explained. "Ant-Man was the easiest job of my life. It was really fun. [Abigail] was just as fun, but it was different. We had a real set, we had real props, real people. So whatever inspiration you get is from what's happening right in front of you, and I didn't have to make it up. There was no green screen. And that was much more freeing than I was prepared for."

Paul Rudd Addresses the Possibility of Another Ant-Man Standalone Film
With three standalone Ant-Man films under his belt, Paul Rudd weighs in on the character's future.

Newton previously revealed that she would love to reprise her role as Cassie Lang since the character was mentioned at the end of The Marvels. "In the Marvel universe, you hope for that," she explained. "I grew up watching Iron Man, and I feel like I grew up with that character. So if I get an opportunity to continue the story, then that would be so cool to be a part of a generation that's growing up with a film."

Could A Young Avengers Project Be In The Works?

However, Newton noted that actors don't know when Marvel will call on them again. "It's such a big part of my life. But they don't really tell you," she continued. "They tell you an overall, but I don't take anything for granted. I am just trying to get through the day. Let's finish one movie, and then let's continue. But I would very much also jump at the opportunity to work with Marvel Studios again."

Ant-Man 3 Star Recalls the MCU Sequel's 'Absolutely Chaotic' Production
An Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star opens up about how chaotic it was on the set of the Marvel Studios threequel.

Since other recent MCU additions like Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop and Vellani's Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel has sparked speculation about a Young Avengers team-up, Newton says she'd love Cassie to get a Nick Fury-style recruitment call. "Honestly, one of the biggest goals of my career was to be a Marvel superhero. I would do it forever if I could," she said before revealing her dream MCU co-star. "My instinct is Hailee Steinfeld."

Marvel Studios has yet to confirm a Young Avengers project, but they've been gradually introducing young heroes across Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU. This includes characters like Billy and Tommy Maximoff from WandaVision, Eli Bradley from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Kid Loki from Loki, America Chavez from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Riri Williams from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is streaming on Disney+.
