Are you new to the school system looking for Kindergarten, or new to the Peel board, province or Canada? Use the school locator to determine which school your child should be attending based on your home address. 

Below, you will find options to enroll your child/teen at one of our 259 elementary or secondary schools. There are options for specialized programs, night school, summer school, and continuing and adult education programs.

Kindergarten

Starting school is a big step for your child and your whole family. Learn more about this big step and how to register for Kindergarten. Grade 1 to 12 registration

For student registrations in grades 1 to 12, please create a PowerSchool Enrollment parent account on the online portal using the appropriate link below. Learn more about the registration process using this “How to Apply” tip sheet.

You will complete the New Student Registration Form and be given an option to attach necessary documents (i.e., proof of citizenship, proof of address etc.) to the form. Once completed and submitted, the registration form will be reviewed and processed by the school. Parents will be notified via email if any additional information is required to complete the registration process. Please scan and upload the documents required for registration (listed below).

Documents required for registration

  1. If registering your child at a school location for grades 1 to 12, complete the Student Registration Form.
  2. If you're new to Peel, please also complete this MSEP consent form
  3. Please scan and email all documents to the appropriate school to complete your registration. 
  4. If your child requires educational support due to a disability, please complete the Planning for Entry Form

Proof of child's age and legal name (provide one original document from the list below)

  • Birth Certificate/Birth Registration Card
  • Citizenship Card / Certificate / Passport / Permanent Resident Card / Confirmation of Permanent Residence
  • Certificate of Indian Status
  • Refugee/Convention Refugee Permit

Current proof of address (provide one original document or electronic document from the list below)

  • Agreement of Purchase and Sale of House
  • Latest Municipal Tax Assessment (MPAC) / Tax Bill
  • Phone / Cable/ Internet Bill
  • Utility Bill (water, hydro, gas)
  • Bank Statement / Letter from Financial Institution / Credit Card Statement
  • Government forms (e.g. Canada Post, Service Canada documents)

Proof of Citizenship/ Immigration Status (provide one original document from the list below)

  • Canadian Birth Certificate/Birth Registration Card
  • Canadian Citizenship Card / Certificate / Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card / Confirmation of Permanent Residence
  • Stage 1 Approval Letter from IRCC
  • Refugee/Convention Refugee Permit
  • Study Permit issued to parent for a diploma or degree program from Citizenship and Immigration Canada and acceptance letter from publicly funded post-secondary institution
  • Work permit/Employment Authorization from Citizenship and Immigration Canada
  • Work Permit for Missionary Work (only case type 13)
  • Documentation in support of Expired Visitor Status such as Expired Visitor Record, Passport (non-Canadian) – showing Canadian stamped date of entry or Traveler's History Report from CBSA.

Proof of immunization Records

  • Students with an OEN (shown on Ontario report cards or transcripts) do not need to provide proof of immunization
  • Students registering in an Ontario public school for the first time must provide proof of immunization/vaccination – Peel Public Health Reference Number or other Immunization Record or a valid exemption from Peel Health.

Proof of Custody/Legal Guardianship documentation​

  • Children must live with their parent(s) unless the school is provided with legal documentation supporting an alternate living arrangement​

Learning pathways and programs

French Immersion and Extended French

The Peel board offers two optional programs for students to pursue learning opportunities in French: French Immersion and Extended French.

International Languages

Through the International Languages Program, students can develop oral communication, reading and writing skills in languages other than English or French.

International Students

The Peel District School Board's Peel Schools for International Students welcomes students from overseas who are studying on VISA.

Elementary Regional Learning Choices Programs

Regional Learning Choices Programs empower students by providing an opportunity to develop and explore skills in a particular area of interest. Entry point is grade 6.

Explore High Skills

Explore High Skills is a program that allows secondary schools with SHSM programs to offer a specialized program choice for grade 9 and 10 students.

Online Learning

Learning online is an option that can suit the varied schedules, interests and strengths of students.

Night School

Night School is a good option for students who need to upgrade courses or who would like to take courses outside of day school.

Secondary Regional Learning Choices Programs

Secondary Regional Learning Choices Programs empower students by providing an opportunity to develop and explore skills in a particular area of interest. Entry point is grade 9.

Summer School

Summer school can be a great option for students who need to upgrade credits or who want to complete additional credits during the summer months.

Adult Credit

You can earn high school credits, improve marks for college and university applications, improve your chances of getting a job and graduate from High School!

Adult ESL

We offer ESL and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs for newcomers to Canada whose first language (or mother tongue) is not English.
