Absolutely gorgeous. The palace is amazing. The gardens are beautiful. You get a free audio tour with the price of the ticket.

Getting around the gardens is a bit tricky since there are barely any signs but go find a bench in the shade and just take it all in.

Water is SUPER expensive if you buy it from the carts so either bring your own or, if you go to the maze (super cute! There's one for children and one for adults - all for additional cost) there are beverage machines which are much cheaper (and there is also a toilet and a cute little playground.)

We were in May and there were huge crowds so I shudder to think what happens there in July-August (it's also really hot inside the palace) but it's worth it. Buy a ticket ahead of time online to skip the queue at the ticket counter. The palace is easily reachable by underground train.

BTW our tour guide said that if you decide to see the rooms here, you can skip seeing the rooms at the Hofburg palace as it's pretty much the same - but you should still go to the Hofburg for the gardens etc.

Beautiful European city, so clean and updated, we visited the old town on a guided tour and really loved it. It rivals my favorite city (Paris). Highly recommend.

Every visit to Vienna included spending a period of admiration and silence in this superb cathedral.
This time, the visit was accompanied by a concert - Vivaldi's Seasons, performed by a chamber orchestra (I can't remember the name).
The interpretation was excellent, too bad the sound was almost lost in the vast space of the cathedral.
A visit here is a "must".

This is a beautiful building that used to be someone's residence and now its a wonderful art museum. We enjoyed our visit there on our recent trip to Europe. The building itself is gorgeous and the art, especially the Gustav Klimt collection is amazing. Highly recommend a visit.

The Hofburg Palace is one of the most significant historical landmarks in Vienna. The palace was originally built in the 13th century as a fortress, and was gradually expanded and renovated over the centuries by successive Habsburg monarchs, becoming the sprawling complex that exists today. The palace complex was the political and cultural center of the Holy Roman Empire, and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire, under the Habsburg Dynasty, serving as the seat of government, the imperial residence, and the venue for lavish court ceremonies and festivities. It was also a hub of artistic and intellectual activity, attracting leading artists, musicians, scholars, and statesmen from across Europe. The Hofburg Palace continues to be a venue for cultural events, concerts, exhibitions, and international conferences. It also serves as the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria, and houses various government offices, conference facilities, and cultural institutions.

These gardens are so beautiful. Very large, lots of different places to just sit and enjoy the beauty. I especially enjoyed the rose garden and the beautiful sculptures.

A nice zoo, with lots of attractive animals such as koalas, big and red pandas, rhinoceroses, elephants, giraffes, penguins, seals, polar bears and many others. Tickets can be bought at the entrance to the zoo. It is open until 6:30 p.m., so you can also leave it for the end of your visit to Schonbrunn, but you need at least two to three hours to go around it. It happened to us that the pandas hid, so we had to come back later to see them.

Absolutely incredible museum. Not only is it visually stunning but it houses some incredible collections. They seemingly have every species of bird ever located, it’s crazy! Some really unusual ones too. As well as an array of animal species, fossils, and crystals. Incredible! Also has an amazing cafe.

Together with my wife, I attended the show with the operas Cavalleria Rusticana (Guillermo Mascagni) and Paiate (Ruggero Leoncavalo). I appreciated the high outfit of the spectacle.
Every time we came to Vienna, we visited the State Opera building, and we were spectators at an opera presented here.
From the attached photos you can see the grandeur of the performance hall and the access hall.
Of course, I warmly recommend a visit here.

The State Hall of the national library is straight out of Hogwarts! Incredible architecture, fabulous paintings and frescoes, soaring stacks of ancient books (potions and spells?), secret hidden doors, creaky old ladders on wheels, statues and sculptures, antique globes, and much more. Well worth the 10 euros (8 euros seniors) entry!
