Houston Dynamo 2 traveled to Utah to face Real Monarchs last Wednesday night. This marked their fifth encounter all-time, with all previous victories belonging Houston.

Coach Kenny Bundy assembled a strong starting XI for the match, with Xavier Valdez guarding the goal. The defensive line comprised of Kieran Sargeant, Isaac Mwakutuya,Femi Awodesu, and David Ndong Nguema, while Brooklyn Raines, Diego Gonzalez, and Sebastian Rodriguez manned the midfield. Up top, Ousmane Sylla, Exon Arzu, and the recently acquired Jordy Burbano sought to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Despite the Monarchs' initial attempts to assert dominance on their home turf, Dynamo Dos applied relentless pressure, disrupting their rhythm. In the early minutes, Monarchs threatened with two close chances narrowly missing Valdez's goal, showcasing their intent to leverage the home-field advantage.

Monarchs persisted in testing Valdez but failed to find the target despite seven attempts within the first 30 minutes. Dynamo 2, with fewer shots, focused on quality, with Ecuadorian newcomer Burbano spearheading their offensive efforts.

The 60th-minute saw Rodriguez's shot forcing a diving save from Monarchs goalkeeper William Mackay, marking the most significant threat from the visitors. Both sides, adept at pressing and regaining possession, reached the hour mark without inflicting substantial damage.

The deadlock was broken in the 63rd minute when Aiden Hezarkhani exhibited individual brilliance, evading a defender with a deft spin before slotting the ball past Valdez. However, Dynamo Dos responded swiftly, with Sylla netting their equalizer from a well-executed set-piece in the 69th minute.

As the match entered its final phase, Dynamo 2 seized the opportunity in the 82nd minute. Isaiah Reid, moments after coming on for Sargeant, delivered a precise cross for another substitute Stephen Annor to score their second goal. Dos took the lead late as they tried to secure their maiden victory of the season within regulation time.

Valdez showcased his prowess with crucial saves in the 92nd and 94th minutes, preserving Dynamo Dos' lead and the win. With this victory, Dynamo 2 maintained their undefeated record against Real Monarchs, securing six points in seven matches and climbing from the bottom of the table in MLS NEXT Pro.

The next challenge awaits at SaberCats Stadium against a formidable St. Louis City 2 side. Fans are encouraged to support the team in this promising matchup next Wednesday at 7 PM. Admission is free, so let's rally behind the future of the club. #VamosDos #VamosLosPibes
