SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!! Much like the QC issues that plagued the vinyl release of Fashion Nugget, an early listen to the 3/10 release of Prolonging the Magic reveals much of the same jackassery and complete absence of QC. For starters, abnormally dished, just like FN. Second, dirty and dusty...yep..just like FN arrived. Third, has a weird haze across the deadwax...ditto for FN. But PTM also has a nasty edge chip. Seriously! How does a QC person miss a jagged, chipped edge when sleeving a record? They DGAF! The bad sections are pretty bad. Like head turning, "WTF?" kind of bad. Then other sections are pretty good. Then, it gets noisy again. Very inconsistent. Definitely not right. And this is after two ultrasonic cleanings!
What plant is crapping these out? It's a bit ridiculous, especially for music of this importance.

I was obsessed with this CD as a teenager, so much so that I scratched up the disc until it became unplayable. I bought another copy at a used CD store and was surprised to find some of the tracks had notable differences - "Hem of Your Garment" sounded like a different take entirely (and had a wobbly synth part), "Sheep Go to Heaven" had a bizarre edit during the jam section, and "You Turn the Screws" had a weird skip on the intro. Does anyone have any information about this version?
