We stayed with friends recently at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla in Seacliff 138.
About the unit: The palatial yet private four bedroom in the best location on the resort, overlooking Mead's Bay, with massive bathrooms with tubs, showers and private outdoor showers off of each bedroom, high end appliances, well-appointed and maintained interior, infinity edge pool and hot tub, secluded beach below was the finest accommodation I'd experienced in travels.
About the resort: Diago and the team at Four Seasons Anguilla have the finest group of service staff I've encountered anywhere. The staff are friendly, thoughtful and genuinely happy to be present in whatever moment we interacted with them. The resort has outstanding amenities for families or couples wanting a private retreat with multiple, age restricted pool areas, a kids activity center, tennis, pickleball, basketball, climbing wall and a turned-up fitness center. The food is tasty, though expensive, the drinks are expertly made and have a wide variety of specialties across the multiple venues on the resort. The sand is sugary and brilliant, the two beaches offer different vibes and I can't possibly offer a description of the blue hues of the ocean that do it justice.
The island: When I told people I was headed to Anguilla, most didn't know where that was and hadn't heard of it. I came to understand that's kind of how Anguillian's like it. The people are incredibly warm, well-educated and welcoming, but they are private. That's probably why Lebron jumped off the famed rock on the island I climbed up on and no one heard about it...and why lots of celebrities visit each year...no one makes a big deal about it. The interior of the island isn't flashy, but most homes are well kept, and it feels friendly and safe; save for the fact they drive on the left side of the road like their British countrymen. Food and drink are plentiful and fabulous and getting from here to there is easy if you have a rental.
I've not had a finer week anywhere in the world. If you have the means, and the desire to get away from the noise, make a trip to the Four Seasons Anguilla happen. And if you have a big group, you won't find a better property on the resort than Seacliff 138.

The experience at this hotel was fantastic from start to finish. We had a disappointing hotel experience before moving over here and what a relief it was to be whisked away into the lap of luxury.
Common areas: The property is absolutely beautiful with most of the main areas open-air and lots of nooks and areas to sit and enjoy. The adult-only pool is infinity edge with an amazing view.
Check-in: Extremely smooth and you are greeted with a refreshing rum punch and cold towel as you complete the process.
Room: We booked a room with ocean view and it was stunning. Humongous marble bathroom (nearly the size of the bedroom), comfortable bed, and an amazing balcony overlooking the ocean, along with an outdoor hot tub. Sparkling clean. Also extremely thick doors and soundproofing kept the room super quiet.
Service: All requests were promptly attended to without any "island time" delays. Housekeeping did a very thorough job.
Only con: restaurants at the property were all extremely expensive and fairly mediocre (we tried all of them). Our favorite were the Half Shell which is located by the residences and Sunset Lounge is a great place to grab fancy cocktails or a sushi snack. If you have a car, I'd recommend going down the street to Blanchard's beach shack for great food and affordable prices.
Also while checking out they couldn't find our rental car initially so we had a bit of a scare. Fortunately after searching for it for about 20 min, they finally located it in another one of their lots.

We just made our first visit to Anguilla and to the Four Seasons! It did not disappoint. We will be back! The lovely Ghizlane checked us in while we enjoyed rum punches and we sat in a comfortable seating area in the reception area. We were so pleased to learn we had been upgraded to a villa!!! It really pays to book with a preferred partner. We booked with Richie at WhataHotel by Lorraine Travel, Four Seasons Preferred Partners. They provided us with free breakfasts each day, a room upgrade when available, and a room credit to be used at the resort. While we were there we visited all of the pools and beaches. They are all wonderful and offer a different menu and each venue. We had WONDERFUL service while we were there. They also have sunscreen at each area (pool or beach) and bring canisters with water and cups for you to enjoy while you are there. Every two hours or so they come around with bite sized free appetizers or drinks for you to sample. We had wonderful service from food/beverage to set up service! The sand is incredibly soft, they have nice chairs, and they also had kayaks, snorkel gear, boogie boards, and floats for you to borrow. Our Villa was amazing and it was in the second row of villas behind Barnes Bay. We had use of a golf cart to get around the resort and our villa was in amazing condition. We used our villa quite a bit since we were traveling as a family of 4 and it was amazing to have the extra space to play games, hang out, or use the outdoor pool/spa space. The maid service came 2x per day and they were very accomdating to our schedule. We had our own concierge, Nicolas and he was amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed and came by each day to set up our towels outsid by our pool area. I would highly reommend this resort. This was my husband and my first big trip since the pandemic, and it was perfect. We stayed for a week and felt totally relaxed when we went. Most of the rooms have plunge pools; we were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite from a studio and it was lovely. The room was comfortable and had a gorgeous view, and we really got to enjoy the plunge pool one afternoon when it was raining. Service here is very nice, much better than it is at FS Ocean Club. The beaches are uncrowded with white sand and turquoise waters. We loved the breakfast options at SALT and spending our evenings at the Sunset Lounge, especially when Omalie 360 performed live music. This is a very romantic option for a honeymoon for people who do not want to travel too far. It was expensive but worth every penny. I hope to return!

This was the first big trip my husband and I went on since receiving our vaccines earlier this year. We chose this property because cruise ships do not stop in Anguilla and we were looking for somewhere that wasn't super crowded. Words cannot describe how beautiful the property is. There are two main beaches and three different pools to relax at, along with several different dining options. We booked an Oceanview room (with a plunge pool) and were upgraded to a one-bedroom Oceanview suite at check-in. Everything was perfect except for the water issue (one of the main lines broke and it affected the water every day we were there). However, we appreciated that the Four Seasons provided us updates and were trying to do everything they could to fix the issue. Honestly, I could sit here all day and go on and on about how wonderful the Four Seasons Anguilla is.
Special thanks to Del and Daryl for making our beach days so much fun, the staff at the Sunset pool, and of course Khalida, Laurence, and Raphael for handling everything with such grace and understanding. We cannot wait to come back and visit again!

This place is overrun with entitled screaming children whose parents don’t seem to notice the rest of us don’t think they’re cute. In an attempt to salvage my 3 generation vacation with my mom and 15 year old daughter we went to the ‘adult only pool’ for some peace and quiet. We were asked to leave because my daughter was not 18. Not because we were disturbing anyone, but because of the risk other guests would follow and not be respectful. So, screaming, splashing kids or in my suite with the door closed so as not to hear screaming kids. Sadly I can’t even see the view from the suite, which doesn’t have window coverings in the living room so they had to install stick on disposable black out shades so the person sleeping in that room could actually sleep.
And all the other not four seasons things so far
1. Upon arrival, despite using the app to check in we waited 20 minutes for our room key. We were brought to the room where we were told how to heat the plunge pool and nothing else. This is a huge property. Not one piece of info about pools, restaurants, beach, nothing!
2. Tin foil in my salad. No apology. No offer to compensate. Delivery time of 3 meals was spaced so that we each at alone. When a spoon for the bowl of salad dressing was requested the response was ‘you don’t just want to pour it on?’ When said spoon was brought to the table it was handed to me not on a tray not in a napkin just a bare hand.
3. Bug on my coffee cup, no worry, the waitress used her finger to pinch it off.
4. No ala carte menu at breakfast. Here they are happy to treat my daughter as an adult and charge $50 for her three pancakes.
5. Requests for service go unanswered, requiring multiple follow ups and hours wait.
6. There’s zero sound proofing on the room doors.
7. The hotel is in need of a refresh with stained furniture and broken mirrors in the room.
8. Only decaf coffee available for the in room coffee maker.
9. We returned to our room at 3:00 from an outing and it hadn’t been serviced. Requested service at that time. Showed up at 4:30.
My guess is if I had little kids I’d think this place is perfect. The staff are accommodating and friendly if a little undertrained. Anguilla is gorgeous as is the property. The food is standard resort fare, nothing to write home about but serviceable. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to resorts and I guess my family has crossed over the ‘family friendly’ line.

The jacuzzi on the porch was inoperable and maintenance could not get it operational. There was wine splattered in the wall of the restroom. I asked twice to have it cleaned and this never happened. Management needs to pay more attention to the rooms and maintenance

I stayed at the Four Seasons Anguilla with my boyfriend for 2 nights and we loved it! Service was really excellent and personalized, everyone is lovely, polite, kind and extremely helpful without ever being obsequious. The grounds are beautiful and you can see the ocean from almost everywhere in the hotel. SALT, the main restaurant, has ocean views and serves a very nice breakfast buffet (dinner was ok too). The bedroom was very large and well appointed (the bathroom particularly was beautiful and had a bathtub and a shower). The spa is pricey but I received excellent service and the facilities are top notch - they do run on a tight schedule so plan to be there right on tine for your treatment. Overall, staying at the Four Seasons Anguilla was one of the highlights of our vacation. Finally and slightly unrelated, to the Four Seasons, we note that taxis are very expensive in Anguilla (about $30 each way to go anywhere from the hotel) so you should keep that in mind!

After a much anticipated and long awaited dream vacation, we arrived at the four seasons only to be disappointed with inconsistent/poor service by The Four Seasons. I'm still here and there's too much to list, but a few examples of our frustration include food sitting outside our room for five days. We asked twice for them to clean it as we have small children that were playing with it. On the fifth day they took away most of the food, but left behind this mess. Not what we expect when more paying over $700 per room. The service is hit or miss in terms of how friendly/responsive they are. I would say 70% of the time they seem silently irritated with you. The amenities in our room are often not replaced (water, soap, sugar) even when we leave a kind note with tip. Perhaps there is a language barrier, but we shouldn't have to ask for basics to be replaced daily. The hotel, views and beach is beautiful, but the service is subpar and disappointing for what they are charging.

My husband and I stayed here for a week. Overall, the property and staff were fabulous! Many positives with only a few cons. It's a large property and we tried all the pools and both beaches. We found service at both beaches and every pool to be stellar and prompt. Shoutout to Tweeds at Meads Bay Beach - he went above and beyond to make sure we were always taken care of and we saw him off property one afternoon and he was quick to say hello and chat. Taxi service staff was always there to help and very quick to give you towels for excursions , beach tote and waters, if needed. We found the hotel app to be very helpful and quick to answer any questions. I really enjoyed the floating bar at the adult pool. It was something unique! We brought our own inter tubes from home that Tweeds blew up with an air pump and can't recommend doing the same enough. We floated the week away in the stunning waters in Meads Bay! It was so relaxing and fun. Hotel gym is top notch. Busy in the mornings so went late mornings and the only people there at that time. Anguilla is a gorgeous and safe island. The locals are very proud of their country and it shows. Several cons - we were upgraded to a rooftop plunge pool room. Not really sure it was an upgrade - we would have rather had the pool on the balcony right outside. The view was over the roof of the sunset bar. When there was entertainment in the Sunset Lounge it felt like the band was in our room. If I had had small children in the room it would have been a dealbreaker. Check with front desk when checking in how close to the entertainment your room is to the eventing entertainment. The mini bar was never restocked. Large groups at this hotel are in abundance. Different pools were closed at times to accommodate functions. Large group patrons act differently than guests that are actually paying for the accommodations. It was easy to identify which guests were with the groups. We were not a fan of the large groups and the ONLY reason we would not return. I had read the reviews about this issue and it's all true. A shame because we truly loved the property and service, however, will choose a smaller resort to avoid these groups on our next visit. We will definitely visit Anguilla again and again!! There were two days when I felt really comfortable snorkeling from the beach to the cove, and two days that were very windy and I was not comfortable doing that. Grand Cayman had calmer water. But Anguilla was exquisite.
There are more places to choose from in the West End Village area.
