Howard University Reviews

Howard wasn't just a school; it was a revelation. Stepping onto that vibrant campus felt like a creative haven buzzing with kindred spirits. Surrounded by fellow photography enthusiasts, each unique yet united by artistic passion, I built a network that echoed my own identity. Howard's influence transcended artistry. It fostered a deep appreciation for my roots while igniting a journey of self-discovery. Joining a sisterhood empowered me to champion individual representation, while professors became catalysts, pushing me to shatter artistic boundaries. Days buzzed with lively energy, nights pulsed with social life. Yet, amidst this vibrancy, a crucial challenge persists: limited housing, especially for freshmen. While the physical space may not define Howard's essence, it's the exceptional people it cultivates who truly shine. Here's to another year of unforgettable memories at Howard, a place where dreams take flight, fueled by a vibrant community!
The best part about attending HU is the professors commitment to student success and the student life. I highly recommend pledging here if that niche of student engagement appeals to you. It is a phenomenal way to develop life-long personal & professional connections. Additionally, students are always willing to help each other out. We all understood the competitive nature of practicing excellence. But unlike other academic institutions, student loyalty to the notion of helping each other over helping thy self, remained cornerstone - not only, but especially during times of intense academic pressure. The faculty's (professors only) commitment to student success is something other unis should model. It truly is unparalleled! Many of these professors are the best in their field, and have had higher paying offers at other institutions. However, their commitment to developing HU students is personal to them - and is evident from the student's perspective.
If Howard University is on your list of colleges to go to, it would be the only school that would need to be selected. I cannot imagine not attending Howard because of this school's amazing diversity and appreciation. I am proud to be a student-athlete here, as it is one of the top Black Ivy League Schools in the United States. I am also pleased to be a part of the Howard University swimming and diving team, as this is the only HBCU swimming team as well. Most of the campus has also been thick and thorough the history itself, as we Americans and people need to learn the reason why our nation has beautiful, predominantly Black Colleges and Universities around. The professors here strive always for excellence and are pleased to have academics as their number one priority. This scholarship would have much beneficial use to a student-athlete such as myself. Noting that HBCUs are not financially sound enough, I feel that there would need to be a change in such matters. Thank you again!
