Arizona School for the Arts Reviews
Rating 3.82 out of 5 200 reviews
I had a wonderful experience at Arizona School for the Arts. They gave me exactly what I was seeking out from them, and there were many things I'm grateful I received from them now that I'm graduated and in college. They strongly prioritized academic education, emphasizing college readiness, which they provided help for in a multitude of ways throughout all four years of high school. Since it was an arts school, there was, of course, an emphasis on the arts, but the administration always made it clear to the students that the priority was our academics. The only thing I can think of for the school to change is their seating situation for lunchtime. It's incredibly hot in Arizona, especially during the summer, but there was no designated indoor seating at lunch. Of course, if there was a heat advisory, we'd eat in classrooms, but I think it would benefit them immensely if they worked on incorporating an indoor cafeteria.
I love going here for school. With the rigorous academics, accepting community, and exceptional arts program, Arizona School for the Arts is a great school to consider for a student’s academic/artistic journey.
Throughout my time at ASA, I have had amazing opportunities. For example, I have gotten the chance to excel in my favorite subject: mathematics. I was able to skip two classes and feel extraordinarily prepared for college-level mathematics, which I don't feel like I would be if I went to another school. Additionally, the small and tight-knit community here has allowed me to meet many different and brilliant people. Knowing so many different people helps in improving my own morals and values as I have been shown so many different perspectives on life. On the other hand, the administration has been rather disappointing as of late. They seldom listen to student feedback and often make things harder for us. For example, the administrators rarely respond to their emails, making it hard to keep a contact with them. Additionally, I participated in mock trial this year, and the administration took away our lawyer coaches this year, so we had to find other ways to succeed.
