Lovecraft Country is a ten-episode drama horror television series that follows Atticus Freeman, his childhood friend Letitia, and his uncle George as they take a road trip from Chicago across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father Montrose. They encounter more than what they bargained for, however, when their search-and-rescue turns into a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and monstrous creatures that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback.
Created by showrunner and executive producer Misha Green, the show is based on Matt Ruff's novel of the same name. It is executive produced by Misha Green, J.J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim, and David Knoller, and it features Jonathan Majors in the lead, alongside Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Courtney B. Vance.
Lovecraft Country premiered on Sunday, August 16, 2020, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
