Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Chris MWetherby, UK1,384 contributionsThis was a return visit after a significant time gap. It was pleasing to see that apart from a section of the indoor market hall being closed due to RAAC concrete issues, it was as active as ever. This is a very large market located adjacent to a good shopping mall and close to the Bury Transport Interchange. There is also a large multi story car park on the edge of the market. Although it was a midweek visit the market was very busy and there were very few empty stalls. The range of items available is extensive. A great traditional market.Written 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- michael_brown513Stockport, UK3 contributionsAn excellent military museum. Exhibits were well presented and staff were friendly and helpful. If I have one minor criticism, the lighting seems rather dim making some of the printed information difficult to read. On the other hand, it could be that my eyesight is poor!Written 25 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JOHN CLondon, UK1 contributionAnother brilliant play and wonderful performances from all the girls. Be my baby was a very emotional and heartfelt story that also had some good old fashioned humour thrown in for good measure. Lovely little theatre and friendly staff.Written 20 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- acs1984Cockermouth, UK1,624 contributionsWe had a walk up to the Peel Tower on New Year's day. It was open so we decided to have a climb to the top. It was £4 for 2 adults and 1 child. As you can imagine there was a lot of steps, but they weren't steep. Really good views from the top. It was very busy so it was a bit of a squeeze passing on the stairs and then at the top.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sean MManchester, UK3 contributionsGreat panto, great staff but the bar was seriously understaffed as usual.
The legroom in the seats is awful, very uncomfortable and no fun for anyone over 5ft 6.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I saw a heron which made my day. So many walk ways and easy parking . So nice to walk within a litter free area .Written 2 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Roy4 contributionsKiss me like you mean it - fantastic production, acting, and script, delivered with pace and every emotion going! A play in two parts - best I have seen in 15 years of attending Summerseat Players. I can’t recommend enough. Don’t miss it!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Leyland LPreston, UK212 contributionsFirst time visit with our four year old grandson, coupled with a ride on the ELR and meet the Gruffalo experience.
We all had a great time and he loved being able to go on the buses, especially upstairs.
All the volunteers were friendly and helpful.
There were a good selection of vehicles of all types with something for everyone.
My only criticism is that there was nowhere to get a drink or snack (even a vending machine would have been welcome). However just across the road is Bolton Street Station part of the ELR where refreshments can be obtained.Written 5 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The highlight is the Wrigley Collection; an assemblage of more than two hundred oil paintings, watercolours, prints and ceramics, which includes works by J. M. W. Turner, John Constable, Edwin Landseer, and George Clausen. There is a feature on modern sculpture; not for everyone but if you are interested then you will probably like this.Written 11 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Geoff. Hewitt43 contributionsWent specifically for the Model Tramways day. Am a regular visitor and an enthusiast about Manchester trams, so am probably (definitely) biased. However, my wife also enjoyed the visit. However, please, PLEASE!, get 173 into operation. A special day with 765 & Stockport 5 all running would be fantastic.Written 7 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
