The Tragedy that was Michael K Williams

As a huge fan of "The Wire" and MKW in general I found his OD to be incredibly sad. Such a talent and his death from H/Fent was so ironically tragic. Not only did he clearly know and understand the dangers of dope addiction from his time on "The Wire" but one of his final roles was in the film "Body Brokers" where he plays a character who makes his living shuttling addicts from the streets into rehab centers (often repeatedly) for a fee. The fact that he was clearly in way too deep even while making that film but still couldn't break away from it really troubles me. He seemed to have so much to live for, but obviously I don't know what kind of demons he was fighting off. I think about that scene where Omar goes out for some Cheerios (Honey Nut, obviously) and comes back with a huge bag of dope and says, "I don't even want this shit" and I wish that life could have done a better job of imitating art. He was so good.

he was so humble and never forgot his roots. put so much of himself into trying to help kids break out of poverty, cared so much for his community. genuinely heartbreaking but he also made so much of his short time on earth.

The dealer he bought from was supposedly his friend and knowingly sold fentanyl to him .
