Between this book and Bethenny Frankel's Cookie Meets Peanut, I am utterly baffled. Are people so desperate to read about the offspring of Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey that they want a picture book about their kids? I am sorry, this is some Dionne Quintuplets shit.

Anyway, looking at it from outside the question of celebrities exploiting their young children--far too young to have any kind of say in how they're being used--for cash: The illustrations are reasonably cute, if not amazing, and it's nice that both the children and the angel on the Christmas tree are people of colour. Roc and Roe's antics are often divided along stereotypical gender lines, marked by the toys they play with and the colours they wear, within the pictures. The text is just a slangy, inane rewriting of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" that's going to sounds dated as hell in a few years.

Unless you're a diehard fan of these kids' parents, it's difficult for me to imagine wanting to own this ephemeral bit of celebrity detritus. And even if you are that into them, I think the fact that this book features a depiction of real children who had no control over their inclusion in the project should be reason to pause before purchasing it.

Wow. This is a book that has been lurking on my son's bookshelf, probably for years. I had no idea it even existed! For having been "co-written" by the famous vocalist, the lyrics really do not scan very well. Still, it's a sweet attempt at reimagining the carol, and the twins are pretty cute. Also it is really funny to me to imagine Nick and Mariah collaborating.

Won this book from goodreads. I was surprised to see that the author was Nick Cannon. It had the most amazing cover and illustrations by AG Ford. The children were exact replicas of Nick's children. I would love to have heard this story as a song could imagine a funky tune. I really enjoy Christmas. This was such a wonderful books for children.

As a huge Mariah Carey fan, I just ‘had’ to have this book! I really enjoyed this book, and loved the twist on the classic carol, “The 12 Days of Christmas”. It made me think how cute it would be to do this type of decorating idea with my own child(ren) later on. I think it’s a great children’s Christmas book.

PS - I assure you I’m not just biased because it’s Mariah Carey related lol, as I have her children’s book, All I Want For Christmas is You, only a 3 star rating.

I have no idea how this book got into my house, but whatever. It’s a rewrite of The Twelve Days of Christmas, and it has potential, but the rhythm doesn’t flow and there’s nothing really noteworthy about the book. I have no idea what a “pip” photo is, either.

My son loved the bright colored pictures. There's not much to say about it because it's just the 12 days of Christmas song written in a book with different items for each day.

Roc and Roe's Twelve Days of Christmas is a delightful book written by Nick Cannon whom many may recognize from his hosting of "America's Got Talent" and Nickelodeon shows. His picture with his former wife Mariah Carey and twin children, Morroccan and Monroe (Roc and Roe) greet the readers as soon as soon as they open the book. Roc and Roe provide their own version of the "12 Days of Christmas" while placing various items such as "twelve chugging choo-choos, eleven teddy bears, . . . five golden bells, four skiing snowmen," etc. on their Christmas tree.

After the initial family picture, the art work by AG Ford will attract children's eyes. Children and their parents will enjoy looking at the items added to the tree and I can imagine children counting each item to see if the number matches what is written. This colorful book has an easy to read font and will probably be reread many times.

I received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and this is my honest review.

What we have here is another rendering of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" by Nick Cannon who happens to be Roc and Roe's dad and Mariah Carey's husband. The illustrations by AG Ford are cute and colorful, and the page spreads are really nice. I even like the font and text placement, but the actual verse doesn't flow very well at all. If you are going to do a knock-off of a beloved Christmas poem, please have the courtesy to make sure that your meter is on. The very first line for example: On the first day of Christmas, Roc and Roe put on their Christmas tree an angel with sparkly, shiny wings. I would think someone in the music industry would be savvy to this concept. Although I didn't "hate" the book, it wouldn't make it on the list of books I have to have for my library. Kids may love because it is a Christmas book with good illustrations.

The children featured in this picture book, Roc and Roe, the offspring of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, are adorable as they trim the family Christmas tree. AS in the case with the classic "Twelve Days of Christmas," they add different things each day, starting with an angel and ending with twelve trains. By the time they finish trimming that tree, it's loaded with all sorts of decorations. There's not a lot new here other than listing various objects for the tree, making me wish there had been a sort of rock 'n' roll vibe to the lines or something like that. The facial expressions of the children and their little dogs are simply adorable. I'm sure this one will be treasured by their family members.

my three year old loves this book! it is modern retelling of the twelve days of christmas, it wasn't extremely creative but my son can't get enough. I will say that I appreciate/value that there are "ethnic" children in this Christmas book. it can be difficult to find quality children's stories that are multicultural. I grew up during a time where I don't really recall very many faces in books that looked like mine. I seek these things out for my son. the illustrations in this book are cute and I hope to see more stories that incorporate children from different ethnic backgrounds.

I honestly don't care that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's kids are the characters in the book. it wasn't a focal point in the story.

At first glance I was highly disappointed as there was nothing new about this book. A boring rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas there were the usual two singing santas, etc.

Then I stared looking at the cute and wonderful illustrations by AG Ford. The illustrations are the reason I gave the book three stars. They made the book somewhat enjoyable and more lively.

I was given this book by Scholastic in exchange for my honest review. Just wish it could have been better.

I received this book from GoodReads First Reads.

I was terribly disappointed with this book. It is simply the 12 days of Christmas with 12 different gifts. There is no additional wording, no story, no originality. I will say the illustrations are colorful and well done.
This book would only be recommended for a parents read to very small children, possibly ages 1-4 yrs. The type is not well suited for an early reader.

Using the pattern of the traditional song, this book substitutes more contemporary seasonal symbols to add to the Christmas tree. Fresh colored line drawing artwork adds to the fun, however the book is a difficult read aloud. Items listed are often awkward to read or sing as the number of syllables doesn’t match with the familiar song. Not recommended for purchase. This book was provided by the publisher for professional review to SWON libraries.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I entered for my daughter basically. She is 3, and squeeled with delight when I showed her the new book. Christmas is so magical for her, and this book just adds to it. She loves picking out the new items on the tree, great for helping her learn to count. Thank you so much for the book :) A great addition to our Christmas selection!!

Fun new version of an old classic, but I was a bit disappointed. I thought there would be more rhythmic with an author like Nick Cannon, talented song writer. It's great that it has children of color, as it should. AG Ford does an excellent job of making everything bright and colorful, fun Christmas tree!

This book's text favors the classic "12 Days of Christmas" but Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey has written the lines as their twin daughter and son Moroccan and Monroe "Roc and Roe" decorated their Christmas tree. The illustrations alone make this a special book. A child that can't read would enjoy just sitting looking through this book.

As celebrity books go, this one's pretty innocuous. it's a fun twist on Twelve Days of Christmas albeit with a few awkward rhyme spots. The illustrations are energetic. Not an amazing addition to the Christmas collection but not bad.

This book is the modern take on 12 days of Christmas. The illustrator did an amazing job at portraying Nick Cannons kids Roc and Roe. Cannon state in the front matter that his kids helped put this book together which makes it even more special.
