Thailand Confirms It Is Ready to Host the 2025 SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: The Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT) held a press conference to express its readiness to host the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 following Cambodia’s successful run as host of the 32nd SEA Games. The games are held biannually and change hosts each time.

At the Garden City Hotel on May 16, 2023, Thailand confirmed that it is confident in its preparedness to host the 2025 SEA Games in accordance with international standards. The conference featured a video titled, "33rd SEA Games in Bangkok, Chonburi, Songkla", which showcased the cooperation and multidisciplinary efforts of the co-hosting provinces. Under the theme “Welcome to Pleasure City”, the display highlighted Thai culture, traditions and customs and warmly welcomed all anticipated guests.

Governor of the Thai Sports Authority, Gongsak Yodmani, expressed Thailand's pride in hosting the competition and noted that the cities of Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla would co-host the Games.

Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, Vath Chamroeun, joined in congratulating Thailand and expressed his desire to develop both the SEA Games and the relationship between ASEAN countries alongside representatives from other member states who pledged their full support and solidarity to Thailand.

Thailand previously hosted the 24th SEA Games in Nakhon Ratchasima 16 years ago. Since then, Thai sports have achieved world-class status with a spirit of cooperation from all parties involved.

As host of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, to be held from December 9 to 20, 2025, Thailand has announced it is ready and committed to organizing the event to the highest standards possible.
