  • Unlike the comic where most of the Justice League were portrayed as being natives of Remnant, this version of the Justice League appears to be the same ones from the DC Universe, having been somehow transported to the RWBY universe.
    • Despite of some of the Justice League's outfits based on their Remnant counterparts, Bruce's Faunus trait is bat wings instead of bat ears.

  • The Justice League members sent to Remnant also, to some degree, hold to RWBY's Color Naming Rule:
    • Superman is known as the Red-Blue Blur. His Earthling legal name "Clark" comes from the the Latin word clericus which means "scribe," "secretary," "scholar," "cleric," bringing the colors of White parchment and Black ink to mind. His Kryptonian birth name "Kal-El" translates to "Star-child" with "star" bringing to mind White and Yellow. His alias is the "Blue-Red Blur".
    • Wonder Woman's first name in her hero name, "wonder", brings the color Yellow to mind.
    • Batman is known as the Dark Knight, with "dark" invoking the color Black.
    • The Flash is known as the Scarlet Speedster while his speed color is Yellow.
    • Cyborg's real name is Victor Stone, with Stone being a shade of Gray.
    • Green Lantern's hero name has the color Green in it.
    • Vixen is a shade of Brown or Orange.
  • Batman is locked in an Atlas cell numbered 39 which a reference to the year 1939, the same year Batman debuted.

RWBY Connections[]

  • The movie's place in the timeline seems to be somewhere during RWBY's time in Atlas, presumably after "Pomp and Circumstance" and before the last half of "Sparks".
  • When Team RWBY and Jaune remembers their real timeline, the images shown are drawn instead of using images from each Volume.
  • When Cyborg overcharges Nora with his Semblance to take down a Wyvern the first time, Nora’s lightning marks on her body foreshadow the scars she receives in "Strings" where overcharging her Semblance results in her getting scars on her upper body.
  • The simulation of Remnant is stated to be in the year of 20XX. It is unknown if this is actual time to the real Remnant or not since the year was never seen or mentioned in the main series.
  • The simulation differs from the real world of Remnant in many ways.
    • Grimm are capable of absorbing dust and shooting lasers. They also 'glitch out' very often.
      • It appears that due to their nature, they do not count as Grimm for the purposes of the power of the Silver Eyes. Ruby does not appear able to activate them in their presence.
      • A small piece of defeated Grimm actually persists after the Grimm itself is defeated. Weiss even notes this is not how Grimm work.
    • The timeline of the simulation is different from the real world of Remnant, appearing to exist as a logical extension of what might have happened had Beacon not Fallen.
      • The CCT is still down, despite the fact the Tower itself is intact.
      • Blake is in contact with her parents and in fact seems to have gone back home for break.
        • For unknown reasons, Blake wears her bow continuously after leaving Menagerie.
      • Weiss is likewise home. Though in a departure from the real world, Weiss can apparently disparage her father in public without his simulation self retaliating or seeming to care at all.
      • Yang's arm is still a prosthetic. This despite the fact that everyone looks exactly like updated versions of their volume 1-3 models, including Yang herself.
      • Pyrrha is not with her team, despite the fact this is supposed to be a world where the Fall never happened. Furthermore none of the characters are surprised by her absence until realizing they were in a simulation. Jaune even states outright she's "gone" (in a very final tone) afterward.
      • RWBY-JNR are all able to completely remember everything they know about Ozpin's secrets as easily as they can remember fundamental facts about Grimm or Aura. This was despite the fact that other things they learned as a result of the Fall are generally more muddled.
        • The fact that Ozpin is dead & reincarnated into Oscar is however something they do not automatically recall after attempting to go to him at his office at Beacon as if his tenure as headmaster went uninterrupted.
