Over the last year, Troye Sivan has become a master at promotion. Through the slow rollout of multiple singles, his exclusive app and a bevy of visually stunning videos setting up the Aug. 31 release of his sophomore effort Bloom, the 23-year-old Australian pop star has his fans on the edge of their seats waiting for his album.
On Twitter, Sivan posted a short teaser trailer for the final single in advance of Bloom, titled “Animal.” The obscure video features a silhouetted figure making hand motions to the background music, before showing a series of what appear to be home videos of Sivan and his boyfriend, model Jacob Bixenman. “Last song before the album,” he wrote. “Here we go kiddos!!!”

Along with teasing his final single’s release, on Tuesday (Aug. 7) Sivan woke up to a welcome surprise from many of his followers. His fans were tweeting using the hashtag #ThankYouTroye to commemorate five years since the singer officially came out on the internet in 2013. “I’m the luckiest in the world to have you all,” he wrote after reading through the tweets. “Thanks for a crazy journey so far.”
Though it’s not clear whether or not the song will be accompanied by an official video on it’s release Wednesday night (Aug. 8), fans have reason to hope for one more video out of the singer — each of his singles thus far (with the exception of “The Good Side”) have come with videos released after each track.
“Animal” drops tonight at 9 p.m. PST. Watch the full trailer below:
