The entrance and surrounding area has several monumental sized memorials to the fallen of South Korea and all the Allied Nations that helped defend against the North Korean Invasion.

The semi-circular plaza leading up to has monuments specific to each allied nation, with a flag marking the country and a marker to describe the contribution that each country made. The 1st floor focuses on the background of the Korean War and the main battles. Sections are divided into major battles, notable individuals, units of the ROK and a run through the course of the war from the retreat to the Pusan Perimeter, through the pursuit to the Yalu River and finally the stalemate at the 38th parallel. The second floor is split between the UN and allied contingent that supported South Korea, and the Korean Armed Forces. The former is a poignant thanks. The latter has many excellent exhibits and information about the 4 Korean military arms. There's also videos that come across as a little jingoistic.

Overall, the place is a fine monument to the fallen of South Korea, while the museum is a fine military and history exhibition. Much of the war is described from the POV of the South Korea so perhaps a bit one sided, but that’s not unusual for national war memorials.

This shopping area turns into a fun night market with great energy. Lot's of food choices and the usual tourist trinkets. A little pricey but still good fun and value.

Superb museum. Beautiful grounds and gardens (and the nearby Family Park is lovely as well), free entry, fully bilingual, fascinating and well-presented exhibits.

Great for kids as well - the robot tour guides seemed to be very popular - and the food court is excellent value for money.

Brilliant way to spend 2-5 hours on a hot day in Seoul!

This is a great place from which to see the amazing sights of the new and old parts of bustling Seoul. Unfortunately for us, it was a rainy day when we visited.
