Netflix is all set to deliver its ‘must-watch rom-com of the year’ starring Kim Soo-hyun — Queen of Tears. The streaming platform, which recently made headlines for showcasing the serene countryside of South Korea in Welcome to Samdal-ri, is back to spreading its K-drama magic and how.

Penned by Crash Landing on You writer Park Ji-eun, Queen of Tears is a romantic Korean drama that will delve deeper into the complicated life of a married couple struggling to stay together against all odds.

One of the highly anticipated shows releasing in March 2024, the Netflix K-drama is helmed by visionary directors Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won, who are renowned for hits like Vincenzo (2021) and Little Women (2022).

The Netflix K-drama features famous Korean actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won as the main protagonists. While the former is known for iconic K-dramas like It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (2020) and My Love From the Star (2013), Kim Ji-won is known for her impressive performances in critically acclaimed shows such as My Liberation Notes (2022) and Arthdal Chronicles (2019).

What is the plot of Queen of Tears?

Hong Hae-in (Ji-won), the heiress of the business empire Queens Group, is married to Baek Hyun-woo (Soo-hyun), a senior official of the group. The influential couple’s life is turned upside down when a crisis hits their peaceful marriage. Will Hyun-woo and Hae-in be able to endure the storm together, or will they fall apart?
