Maureen Van Zandt is an American actress, who rose to stardom as Gabriella Dante in the TV series “The Sopranos” (2000-2007). However, she’s probably best known to the world as American singer/songwriter Steven Van Zandt’s wife.

Steven Van Zandt was born as Steven Lento on 22 November 1950, in Watertown, Massachusetts, to Mary H. Lento; there is no information about his biological father, while his stepfather is Mary’s husband, William Brewster Van Zandt.

The family moved to Middletown Township, New Jersey, when he turned seven years old, when his mother married Van Zandt.

Steven started playing guitar at an early age, and before high school matriculation, had played in several bands, including Whirlwinds, Mates, and Shadows.

He went to Middletown High School but was kicked out as he had long hair. However, he returned to matriculate as his mother was against his decision not to obtain a diploma, and so finished high school in 1968.

He appeared in the2019  Academy Award-nominated Martin Scorsese’s biopic crime-drama “The Irishman”, about hitman Frank Sheeran, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci.

Moreover, he is now working on several projects, including films “The Trainer”, and “Iron Terry Malone”, which are in pre-production.

Steven is known for his efforts to fight issues surrounding apartheid in South Africa. He started the protest group Artists United Against Apartheid with record producer Arthur Baker. With more than 50 other musicians, he recorded the album “Sun City” to raise awareness about the apartheid laws in South Africa.
