Agent Oscar Damiani feels that Inter Milan midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is an “intelligent young man” who can lean a lot from his senior teammates.

The agent spoke to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, praising the 19-year-old Nigerian youth team international following his senior debut for the Nerazzurri.

Yesterday, Akinsanmiro got on the pitch for Inter’s senior team for the first time.

The teenage midfielder has been playing for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team since his arrival last year.

Inter beat the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro’s signature.

The Nigerian’s talent had caught the eye of a number of clubs. But Inter were the team to convince him with their project.

Akinsanmiro is still just nineteen. Therefore there is hardly a rush for him to start making an impact in senior football.

But every experience at the top level counts for a player in the 19-year-old’s position.

And Akinsanmiro got a big one away in Puglia yesterday. He got a feel for what it’s like being on the pitch with his senior teammate, at the Serie A level.

There will still be a long way for the Nigerian to go.

But yesterday’s senior debut was undoubtedly a very big step for him.

Damiani Praises “Intelligent Young Man” Ebenezer Akinsanmiro

“He’s an interesting young guy,” Damiani said of Akinsanmiro.

“He’s very intelligent, a very good player.”

“I met him at the tournament in Viareggio,” the agent, who acted as an intermediary in Akinsanmiro’s move to Inter, said.

Damiani said that “Inter did well to sign him. And it wasn’t easy, considering his non-EU status.”

“Congratulations to the Nerazzurri, who signed him. And to the player, who has been training and growing well.”

“Then when you play with senior players, you can only grow,” the agent observed.

“He’s got a lot of potential.”

Asked if it’s true that Real Madrid wanted to sign Akinsanmiro, Damiani said “A lot of clubs wanted him.”

“But Inter are very good at working with young players,” he added.

“They really worked to convince him to join,” Damiani said.
