Todd Lowell Fisher, loving husband and father of four children, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at age 49.

Todd was born on July 21, 1973 to Ellen and Lowell Fisher in Ann Arbor, MI. His father was a professor of anatomy at the University of Michigan and his mother taught GED. Todd was active in Boy Scouts, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He lettered in water polo and swimming. He also enjoyed playing the cello. He served a mission for his church in Belgium and consequently spoke fluent Dutch. He was semi-fluent in French and German as well. He met his wife Mary while a student at BYU and together he and Mary had a family of four children. Mary was the love of his life. They shared many fun adventures together.

Todd received his PhD in Mathematics from Northwestern University in 2004 and did his post-doc at the University of Maryland. Todd taught at BYU as a professor of mathematics and upon his passing was associate chair of the math department. His mathematics specialty was dynamical systems, which is primarily concerned with orbit structure.

Todd was known for his caring nature. When he was just twelve years old he saved his paper route money to buy a weight set to get stronger in order to help his dad, who was paralyzed by multiple sclerosis. He was also known for his infectious smile and dry sense of humor. He was a very intelligent man. He loved classic rock and listening to music.

Most of all, he loved his wife and children. He cooked them a hot breakfast every day. He planned amazing trips for them. He helped his children with their homework and with practicing their instruments. He tried to spend time with each of them every day. He was always kind.

Todd is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, brother, two sisters, wife, and four children ages 11, 13, 15, and 17. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 29th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 950 S 1700 E St, Springville, UT at 11:00 AM.
