Bat. 6 Inf-Regmts" handstamp, originally marked "frei" but crossed out, Erlau (Aug. 3) arrival backstamp, stamp with traces of soiling between perfs VERY FINE. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE USE OF THE GERMANY 25-PFENNIGS FROM THE FELDPOST STATION NO. 10 IN KAIPING on cover to germany. The 25pf value is one of the rarest German stamps used from the Boxer Rebellion Feldpost offices. This is because they were not supplied to the Feldpost offices. The only explanation is that these were privately carried by soldiers, or as the accompanying certificate notes "Brieftaschenmarke" ("wallet stamp"). This would help explain the slight soiling seen between the perfs of the stamp on this cover. With 1986 Steuer certificate. Michel €8,000
