Much more of a film than its English language version would have you believe. Beautifully photographed and well directed, this film is a romantic comedy with a big heart and plenty of sympathy. The cast is excellent with the two gorgeous leads: Claudia Cardinale and Catherine Spaak giving multilayered performances. Spaak is a true revelation and one wonders why her name is not as well known as Cardinale.
Rather than devolve into silliness, this tale presents a modern perspective on romance and heartbreak. Watch this for the cast in its prime, be entranced by the finely crafted story.
Gradevole commedia con due scatenate Claudia Cardinale e Catherine Spaak.
Ah, gli uomini...
Interesting gallery of marriage candidates under the Spaak/Cardinale duo's eyes. It's 1969 and the winner will be a kind of rather gay Prince Charming. Already forgotten.
Mildly amusing Italian sex comedy, with the main attraction being Claudia Cardinale and Catherine Spaak as roommates on the prowl for sex and maybe a husband. There are some funny moments but the two leads lounging about in their bras and panties, kept me watching
Looking for love in all the wrong places. This film seems longer than it is.
'Uelaaaaa!'. Cardinale & Spaak, the two coolest top-beauties of Italian 60's cinema in the same comedy!. Which is even special as they are covering the two main roles here, with male actors being reserved minor ones (there are Nino Castelnuovo, Antonio Sabato aka the poor Italian's Burt Reynolds, and cameos from veterans of Italian popular comicality Aldo Giuffre’ and Lino Banfi – the latter being the one whom a soapy Quentin Tarantino, meeting him in Venice years ago, greeted, in a useless praise, Maestro! :D). The too long -for how thin it is- film reflects in the lightest of tones the definition provided by its international title, which is also that of its source material, a Dacia Maraini's novel. Which, I assume, has an ending (corresponding to the final twenty minutes of the movie) that's not 'that' suitable for a comedy, though... :D
Not a memorable film but the appeal of the two protagonists makes it ok for a casual watch
