Maria Montano Obituary

LIMA -- Maria Veronica E. Montano, 46, of Lima passed away at 9:33 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born on April 8, 1977 in Calamba Laguna Philippines to Perpetuo and Rosario (Erlano) Montano, who both preceded her in death.

Maria was out going, funny, kind-hearted, dependable, family oriented and a jokester. She enjoyed playing volleyball growing up and was always singing and dancing at family events, She always wanted to make people laugh through her TikTok videos. She had worked for Grammer Americas for over 10 years.

Surviving are her sons Michael Keith Salunga and Abdoul Sylla, Jr.; her daughter Rosario Kaysilyn Montano; her sisters Aida (Nestor) Ignacio and their 3 children, Flordeliza (Mario) Purugganan and their 2 children, Jennifer E. Montano and her 3 kids and 1 grandbaby; her brothers Reynaldo (Fhely) Montano, Odie (Candy) Montano and their 6 children and 1 grandbaby, June Montano and his 3 children and 1 grandbaby and her favorite brother Jayson (Kacie) Montano and their 8 children.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 240 W. Robb Ave., Lima. The family will also receive friends for 2 hours prior to the Mass at the church from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Fr. John McLoughlin will officiate.
