Warning: Scam Alert

Please be cautious about where you download the app. I've seen several modified versions of Winpilot as well as Bloatynosy, which I wouldn't recommend using. Also, avoid the site bloatynosy.com. It promotes Bloatynosy as the official source, but you'll end up downloading an old version of Winpilot. Unfortunately, I get emails from people who have downloaded from there, asking what’s going on (I haven't examined the binaries yet). It seems forums and Reddit are unfortunately referring to that domain.

Changelog

  • Winpilot has been tested on various Dev and Release preview builds and fine-tuned in detail. Support for 24H2 is officially available as of today.

Winpilot should no longer (although never say never) be classified as a "potentially unwanted app" by Microsoft Defender or Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. It's like I can feel that the app is now welcome at Microsoft and no longer gets flagged πŸ™„ 🀫
The app is completely legitimate and does not use any aggressive mechanisms to "break things". Instead, it simply toggles registry switches and uses PowerShell to uninstall apps (just like you do when uninstalling apps from the Start menu). This excludes external scripts like the currently experimental tiny11builder.

Warning: Scam Alert

bloatynosy.com is a fake siteβ€”don't download anything from there! The app is now Winpilot. Only download legit versions from my GitHub. Bloatynosy Classic is also available exclusively on GitHub.

Changelog

  • Clippy's Interactions Split: I separated Clippy’s speech bubble from the assisted actions. Lots of users found the big bubble with buttons annoying, as it covered parts of the UI. Now, Clippy is less of a bother #215 #174
  • Top-Bar Recommendations: Recommendations are now shown at the top, like what Microsoft’s doing with the Settings app and Copilot
  • Updated "assisted" Debloat Signatures for better performance
  • Light/Dark Mode Toggle Moved: Now you can switch modes in the Settings/Three-dot menu
  • Better Error Handling: Improved exception handling for those annoying startup errors when the UI frontend doesn’t load, often because the Evergreen Bootstrapper for WebView2 is missing

Important

The domain bloatynosy.com is a scam and not an official site of mine. It is fraudulent, and you should NOT download anything from there! As you all have noticed, the app is now available as Winpilot. Only the code on GitHub is legitimate and safe to download. The Bloatynosy Classic version is also only available for download here on GitHub!

Changelog

The Winpilot setup area has been further refined, offering better and slightly faster detection of "OOBE" settings. Taking inspiration from Microsoft's latest hit, the Recall feature, for the upcoming Copilot+ PCs, I've had some fun and highlighted the setup area once again with a Totaled Recall badge πŸ˜„ . I'm excited for the initial tests and to see where Winpilot goes from here.

Changelog

  • Access to the menu and menu navigation, in general, has been updated to align with the Windows 11 design language. This transition is being rolled out gradually. There's a possibility that Clippy might be integrated into a notification bar to reduce its impact on the UI. The elements you're seeing now are essentially expansions of the Windows 11 Settings app, but let's face it, Microsoft won't officially introduce them 😸 Everything that Microsoft doesn't let us disable in the OOBE, we can now manage afterward with Winpilot.
  • The JavaScript code for the UI frontend has been optimized
  • Further optimizations and refinements have been made to the code related to the UI, resulting in faster loading times
  • Download of Arc Browser has been added to the Install section
  • Tiny11 support remains experimental. If you choose to utilize this feature and work with a "tiny/debloated" image, proceed at your own risk

  • Clippy has been optimized again to evoke that nostalgic and authentic '90s Microsoft Clippy vibe (Clippy's annoyance factor has been dialed down a notch πŸ™„ )
  • Numerous subtle UI fixes and adjustments have been made
  • The debloat signature of the Crapify plugin has been expanded with more "safe bloatware," now displayed in the "recommended" section for uninstallation
  • Minor fixes have been made in the Setup > Privacy section
  • All code changes since the version schema switch have now been finally committed, making the current codebase open source

NOTE: Winpilot can be scaled in and out directly using CTRL + Scroll Up/Down. Similarly, CTRL + F can be used for searching.

Winpilot and Clippy are even more pumped on Windows 11, now rocking partial GUI and backing @NTDEV_ Tiny11builder https://t.co/LrKCWINsLl#winpilot #app #Windows11 #Microsoft #Ads #opensource pic.twitter.com/Rkx1mM4nVC

Changelog

Here's a small but crucial update that further optimizes ad blocking in Windows 11. I'm aiming to make this feature more dynamic, akin to a browser ad blocker 😸

explorer_IV2nHTA0JH

Also, be sure to check out the changes from yesterday's release.

  • Winpilots and Clippy (NeoClippy) have shifted their focus towards even stricter debloating and disabling of undesired Microsoft features aligning with the approach found in the Windows 11 OOBE. Any features not enabled during the initial setup can be adjusted later in Winpilots' setup area.
  • The Workspace offers four different startup options (see screenshot)
  • Support for the Tiny11Builder has also been added as a pilot function. It is a partial GUI for the well-known PowerShell script by NTDEV, With Winpilots' NeoClippy, you can easily download, mount, and prepare Tiny11.iso images. Feel free to give it a try. Please note, though, this is just a test version. Since it's not an official Microsoft build, I can't offer support for its use. Therefore, use of the script is at your own risk. However, it can serve the purpose of testing and evaluation.
  • Some bugs in the interpretation of links in the Clippy bubble have been fixed.
  • License information has been updated, especially regarding Clippy. Even though Clippy is long gone, we still need to respect the rights associated with it, so you'll see a small copyright notice beneath @microsoft Clippy's search bar. Word on the street is that Melinda Gates may have been the driving force behind Clippy and a few other Microsoft characters. So, big thanks to her for that. With that said, cheers for bringing me into the world, Clippy!

Winpilot 2024.5.5 Adblock

Adblock for the Windows 11 UI now integrated into Winpilot. Sounds strange, but it's also unfortunately a strange development on @Microsoft's part.https://t.co/LrKCWINsLl#winpilot #Windows11 #Ads #adblock #clippy pic.twitter.com/0b1cvtSa5F

β€” Belim (@builtbybel) May 3, 2024

Seems like we're all getting tired and annoyed by the new advertising on the Windows 11 UI, right? That's why Winpilot is introducing a new feature/plugin called Adblock for Windows. It focuses solely on removing ads from the Windows 11 UI. Special thanks to elevenforum for the inspiration!

In the best-case scenario, everything should look like this. All toggles are set to 0/disabled

  • An error has been fixed that led to the incorrect detection of the status of the Setup > Privacy Option 'Privacy Settings Experience at sign-in'
