Just returned today from 4nights at this hotel. If you are thinking of going, take no notice of the negative reviews, we had a lovely time. The staff were friendly, after checking in we found our room and within 5minutes there was a knock on the door delivering an ice bucket with a bottle of prosecco (part of the deal). We ate in Sam's clubhouse every night and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. There was plenty of choice, ample portions and a good variety. Between my husband and I we tried fish and chips, gammon, burger, pizza, curry and salad, all of which were excellent. The nachos for a starter were amazing. Prices were average pub prices, we easily managed to eat within our allowance of £24 per person. The negative reviews about rowdy golfers left us feeling a little apprehensive, but we were pleasantly surprised. Yes there were lots of golfing groups but only to be expected in a golf resort and it was certainly not rowdy. I used the swimming pool which was OK, with nice loungers to chill out on and we enjoyed a nice game of mini golf. Towels and tea and coffee were replenished as soon as we asked. The room was very comfortable, clean and modern with nice decor. A Dyson fan kept us cool, certainly not stuffy. Location was great for touring the area and all in all I would recommend a stay here, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Special thanks to the young man on duty in Sam's on Monday and Tuesday who was rushed off his feet and doing an excellent job. All the young girls were very friendly and polite too. Breakfast was very well organised and enjoyable. Government restrictions adhered to and very well thought out, providing each table with a lovely wooden crate with all the breakfast items, in addition to table service hot drinks and full English. Thanks for a great stay

so we arrived a group of 6 , we did not expect to go straight to our rooms however we did expect a locker to hang our clothes and put our valuables in , we were told { by a very snappy assistant} "We are very busy you will need to share " So we go through not show around changing rooms packed , pool cold, all beds { very ltd amount} full , The fire and ice we paid extra for was what i would expect from any spa and not extra £50 each the relaxing room was frozen , there was not cold water available again something i would expect . Lunch in the bar was like weatherspoons except for the prices wow £13.50 for a glass of wine it was just regular wine you get anywhere nothing special . the rooms were nice and clean , evening meal in the grill was very nice and the waitress chloe was lovely , breakfast was very nice too food was lovely however we were sat in a room that again was cold my mother and daughter had a scarf on . Over all reduce the price of your drinks or up the standard of them , you have too many guests on the weekend for the spa and i feel it could do with up dating and some of the spa staff are rude ,

Dear Shirleycamm It has been disappointing to read that although there were aspects to your stay that were enjoyable, others have let down this experience somewhat and for this we extend our sincere apologies. Your valuable feedback has been taken on board for further discussions with the appropriate departmental Managers where there seems to have been shortfalls with both Customer Service and Hospitality. It is hoped that you will return to The Belfry in the future allowing ourselves to showcase the Resort at its finest. Kindest Regards Chris E General Manager

Part of my partners Birthday Present...... Arrived at the Belfry and was amazed at the well kept grounds, and the grandness of the place. Walking into the lobby/reception area I actually said ‘Oh wow’. Check in was so easy and staff were very polite, friendly and even offered to help us with our bags of which we politely declined. Dumped our bags in the room and went to enjoy the pool facilities. It was very busy, disappointed to find the Saunas were in the changing rooms which meant I had to go in separately to my partner who had to go in the male changing rooms to use it. The pool temperature was very cool and not easy to stay in for too long. I mentioned it to the lady on the desk on out way out, so she said she would get maintenance to check it out. Back in the room we discovered it wasn’t as grand and pleasant as the rest of the hotel. Looked like a previous person had spilt drinks against the wardrobe and bathroom door, shower head was filthy with limescale and dirt and i couldn’t actually bring myself to use it, dirty where the shower glass is attached to the shower tray, bathroom door warped at the bottom and looking awful, drip marks of what could have been someones vomit on the bathroom wall at the bottom by the door, mould starting on the ceiling in the bedroom, 2 holes in the bedroom had filler put in them left and not dealt with, and the fire escape map on the back of the door had drink/water marks on it which wouldn’t be hard to replace to look more professional. Pictures attached. The house keeping in the room was such a let down and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel and the prices asked. However, the room was the only let down. Every member of staff we came across was polite and helpful, and it was no problem to get some more milk and tea bags for our room. The gluten free pizza at Sam’s Bar was one of the best gluten free pizzas I’ve had. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very helpful and knowledgable with the gluten free products. My partner actually said it was the best full english he’s had in a long time, so top marks to the kitchen staff! Hopefully the housekeeping can get rectified so other people don’t experience these problems too.

We went here as a groupon offer as three of us were celebrating birthdays. We arrived early to use the facilities prior to accessing our room. We were had a warm welcome by Charlotte who granted our request for a ground floor room and placed our cases in storage. We enjoyed the pool and spa facilities and managed to gain a lounger without a reserved towel. We checked into our room at 3 and I noticed hairs in the sink, no big deal really but it should not have been there. I lifted the toilet lid and was greeted by a whole load of skid marks. How on earth could this have been missed? It is clear the house keeper did not clean this and did not complete checks, this is basic!!! This was immediately reported to reception, I spoke to Charlotte who was apologetic and said she’d send housekeeping. I asked John from concierge if we could have an upgraded room as compensation particularly as it was our birthdays. Charlotte called and offered an alternative room at the same standard, it was disappointing a higher grade room was not granted. Housekeeping came swiftly so we remained. Surprisingly, the housekeeper did not say a word, no apology, no it’s completed now, nothing! Our offer included a 3 course meal which we had in the Ryder restaurant. This restaurant has a relaxed environment. We had the buffet option which included lots of salads and fish which enabled me to stick to my healthy eating plan. There was a good selection of mains, I really enjoyed the fish medley and gnocchi. The deserts were delicious. When I’ve been to other hotels and said it was for a birthday I usually get a complimentary drink or a cake with Happy birthday iced on the plate, no acknowledgement here at all. There was some discrepancy regarding our meal offer allowance which we managed to sort out satisfactorily. Breakfast was buffet style which included poached eggs and my favourite vegetarian sausages to order. There’s lots of choices including healthy options. If it wasn’t for the poor housekeeping standards the score would have been higher.

Want to let you know how unhappy I have been this weekend with the spa break I was brought for Mother’s Day through spa seekers originally we was coming pre lockdown and was given all the relevant information from spa seekers About our break unfortunately the county went into lockdown and our booking got transferred to a different date We phoned the belfry several times to book different things ie swimming and treatments we came on Sunday the 11th October once we got here we went straight to the spa to enjoy our day and relax. once in the spa we noticed that all the sauna jacuzzi steam room was all closed and all we was offered was the swimming pool I totally understand why this was the case but not once in any communication was we informed of this so My spa day now consisted of a swimming pools and our treatment it is not what I expected I don’t class this as a spa break. this morning I was woke up at 9:00 with someone wanting to clean my room surly this should be done at 11:00 when I am meant to be out my room on departure I should not be being disturbed as a guest before this Time . Breakfast was shocking food obviously just sat under a hot plate the beans have a dry film over them the bacon was hard and the toast is cold my mom asked for a fried egg cause she doesn’t eat scrambled egg and was told she couldn’t have this cause of social distancing the continental box they gave us had been sat on the bar and not in a fridge which consisted of warm orange Juice and fruit no cereals was offered. My complaint is I understand why You have done things because of covid.but it is the lack of communication that we have had , there was plenty of communication between my self and the belfry and not once was told about any of the lack of facilities if we was told any of this before we came we would of deferred again until we would get the proper experience of what we paid for just incase anyone else has booked and wants the full experience I would defer it till it is all open

Our Guests safety is of paramount importance, with all Government guidelines being adhered to, therefore there are restrictions on the facilities we have available which are detailed on our Website and Literature. I was bought this as a birthday present and my other half paid around £298. This included overnight stay, 3 course meal, fire and ice and breakfast. When going for the 3 course meal we was told we get £24 towards the a’la Carte Menu or choose the buffet you did not mention this in your terms and conditions and for the price paid for the voucher was rather expensive as you can get the same package without a meal for £79 each so we paid £140 for a buffet for two. The room had a smoke alarm right above the bed so every 20 seconds you would get a flash in your eyeballs as the ceiling was abit lower on one side. The extractor fan in the bathroom is so noisy that’s all you could hear all night. The lady who attended to us during the meal was lovely and friendly so thank you and the food was lovely just not worth the price. This is our second visit but don’t think we will be returning for a third.

We booked the Belfry for 4 nights over the half term, and we had the most incredible stay (family of 4 , two kids 7 and 4). The free mini golf and swimming pool were a highlight, and all organised by the hotel with utmost regard for the Covid rules. We booked two connecting rooms which was fantastic value for money, especially with a brilliant breakfast (even though it was a reduced menu), and a deal of kids eat free for dinners. The meals at the Rocca Pizza restaurant and Ryder Grill are exceptional. I had the barbeque chicken pizza at Rocca, and could have had this for my dinner every night. it was that good. The mini golf proved a hit with the kids, and as well there is a beautiful playground set in the woods, which are on the resort premises. This was not a golfing trip but a family holiday, but being a golfer, I salivated at the sight of the delightful PGA course , and vowed to come back soon for a few rounds. Overall we had a memorable experience, and want to say thank you to the lovely ANNIE who looked after us at Ryder Grill for dinner (her smile, manner and laughter really shines and created a wonderful experience for ourselves and the kids). As well MARIUS for breakfast was always serving with a wonderful attitude and so helpful. We will be back for Xmas and recommend it to both golfers and families.

We spent a night here on the way back from a family weekend. The receptionist at check in was lovely and changed us from a double to twin. The room was pleasant enough but there was a whirring noise ALL NIGHT LONG from possibly the lift mechanism which was next door to us. Our booking included a £40 food allowance but the restaurant was fully booked until 9pm - far too late for us! We ate in Sam's Clubhouse which was absolutely dire. The place was shabby and cold and very noisy. The food was average (nachos with sauces from bottles rather than fresh), the service was very amateurish. Really very disappointing. The following morning we looked forward to breakfast. The Ryder Restaurant was very hot and very noisy. I'm sure blaring R and B music is very 'breakfasty'!! There were no mushrooms and the toast lady (you had to queue for this whilst your breakfast went cole), was a real misery!!! Not at all happy in her work! One pot of coffee between two of us and almost IMPOSSIBLE to request another as the staff were absolutely whirling around trying to get cleared away as quickly as possible. The continental counter was appalling with cheeses and meats left at room temp and looking really worse for wear and inedible due to the non cool serving area. We found the whole breakfast experience the opposite of relaxing and really not for us. I would gladly have given feedback when I checked out but sadly I wasn't asked how my stay was!! This is a very busy training and conference hotel, not the type of place we would return to, too big, too noisy and hurly burly and our stay was very disappointing overall.

Dear Helen W It is extremely regrettable to hear that your recent visit to The Belfry was not as you had envisaged it to be. Our Promotional packages are very popular, we therefore urge our Guests to pre-book dinner arrangements prior to their arrival in order to avoid disappointment. Breakfast service experiences peak periods throughout the morning with these times being highlighted, offering individuals the opportunity of being able to make informed choices on a suitable time for them to dine. Your feedback is highly valuable and we sincerely apologise for the noise disturbances throughout the evening and the Hospitality encountered during your time in our Ryder Grill. Please be assured this shall be further discussed with the relevant individuals. Your further comments have been taken on board and we do hope we shall be able to welcome you back to the Resort in the future. Kindest regards Chris e General Manager

First time in the Belfry, great location, free parking, receptionist lady was very friendly and helpful, we stayed due to work conference, all cov-19 safeties from sanitized rooms to outdoor eating, loved the food 🥘 and the outside canopy, hotel couldn’t help the weather, so bring a coat and hat, however great chicken goujons and grilled beef hamburgers 🍔. My room had 2 amazing double beds and the shower 🚿 was outstanding (I work in the plumbing and heating sector so love a good shower 💦) Hotel is quite big and I got lost, however staff were very helpful to assist. Spa treatments have 20% off, however the pool is not open. Looking forward to come back on the summer for a golf day 🏌️‍♀️ Loved the golf memorabilia on display 💯

I stayed here twice in December, once on business and again for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The Belfry is always busy, it’s popular for business and of course Golf. Although the conference room I was in was cosy the facilities were fine. Being December there were evening events on too, one going on until midnight on a school night didn’t aid my sleep. However breakfast the next day was good. My next stay was on New Year’s Eve, my room was very similar though in a different wing. Both rooms I occupied were well maintained and had all the amenities you’d expect, however they both lacked character, and could have been more comfortable. There’s no air con, though there is a Dyson fan which wasn’t required on my visits. Beds were ok, the highlight was a well stocked beverage tray. Formal dining on both nights was decent, though not all courses were an unqualified success. As Susan had booked a massage (very good apparently) I had time to use the leisure facilities. The saunas are in the male or female changing areas, the steam room is communal. I also used the swimming pool and hot tubs, there’s an extra charge if you want to use the fire & ice experience. The evening party in the Wishaw suite was as good as these events can be, the DJ tried his best with a very diverse audience. Firework display to bring in the new year were very good indeed. As the hotel was full breakfast the next day was very busy. We caught a slight lull though, and once again enjoyed a good quality cooked breakfast buffet. Other bars were okay to eat and drink in with prices as you’d expect. The staff were all very friendly, and there’s plenty of parking. So overall my visits were a success, and no doubt I’ll return.

And sorry not sure if you’d need to reserve disabled parking - there is a big drop off point if that helps near reception and bell boys/ greeters on hand at all times. I had help to sort my luggage as my husband was golfing while I unloaded
