Fantastic album. Nancy has such a great tone, and Cannonball's flawless on alto. His brother Nat plays cornet with Zawinul on piano. It just has a special vibe that all exquisite albums have. Highly recommended.

This record is a gem! Nancy's vocals are like a third instrument on this album and Cannonball really shines on this album. They are a perfect match; my copy has some pops and crackles that I will try to remove with a good cleaning, but if you going to buy this record make sure you get a Near Mint Copy as the music and vocals are so beautiful any background noise certainly takes away from the beauty of this recording.

I believe the country of origin should be changed to US on this release. I have an identical copy with the same run-outs that also includes the anvil and ampersand indicating it to be a Scranton pressing. The photos shown in the listing of the label and jacket rear both show that it is a release made in the USA.

Billboard's Feb, 24, 1962 Music Weekly says, "Three hot new jazz albums were sparking traffic for dealers specializing in this field. They include the new Ornette Coleman album on Atlantic called "Ornette", the album "Eric Dolphy at the Five Spot" on Prestige and the "Nancy Wilson-Cannonball Adderley" LP on Capitol." So, the recordings were done in 1961,but the record was released in 1962.

Glorious combination of ‘Fancy’ Nancy’s amazing vocals with Cannonball Adderley’s saxophone and band. The sound is amazing as the 2 are front & center in the mix on this stereo pressing from 1962. I purchased a used copy from The Record Loft (outside Atlanta, GA) and actually enjoy the slight crackle of the vinyl. So classy and sublime in every way!

A fan of Cannonball Adderley, I snatched this up in the store. The cover looks amazing, very retro with Nancy and Julian posed.

Right off the bat, this record is a true pleaser, with Wilson's beautiful voice, accompanied by Adderley playing fills. The band is pretty much the Nippon Soul touring group, with brother Nat. The record alternates between vocal and alto features. Cannonball's playing on "Teaneck" is off the hook. He is quite a bebop technician, and always shines on his studio dates. If you listen closely on his solo to "I Can't Get Started", you hear a lick(chromatic enclosure approach notes) he famously played on "Flamenco Sketches" with Miles.

Notable highlights are "Save Your Love For Me", "Teaneck", and "The Masquerade Is Over".

This STEREO version is recorded well and mixed nicely. The instruments are clean and alto sounds big and full. Wilson's voice is prominently featured in the mix, and equally well EQ'd. A very pleasant listen.

If you see it grab it. Recommended.

Really strong album, with half of the songs being sung by Nancy, and the other half are instrumentals by Cannonball Adderley.
