Ashley Tisdale opens up about ‘traumatic’ nose job experience

Ashley Tisdale isn’t ashamed of the plastic surgery she’s had.

The former Disney star, 35, previously revealed that she had her breast implants taken out due to some minor health complications. Now, she’s opening up about the rhinoplasty she had done in her teenage years.

“At the time, it didn’t feel like THAT big of a deal to me because the decision was based on serious health issues I was having. To be clear, it was not about changing my appearance,” Tisdale wrote in an essay on her lifestyle site, Frenshe.

“After several doctor’s visits about my health issues, they also suggested shaving my ‘bump’ down. I was young and didn’t put much thought into it, so I decided, why not? It wasn’t a big deal to me nor was it like I was dreaming of the day I’d get a nose job.”

She called the media’s response to her rhinoplasty worse than the actual recovery process, even stating that the paparazzi broke into her home in an attempt to get the “first shot” of her new nose.

Tisdale also said that she felt more insecure after the procedure than before due to the added public scrutiny, calling the ordeal “very traumatic.”

“Plastic surgery wasn’t culturally accepted then like it is now. When I got it done I was scrutinized, judged, and made to feel ashamed over my decision,” she said. “We all make mistakes in life, and part of my self-love journey was to forgive myself for making a quick decision.”
