One of his perfect songs...even the stripped down versions are amazing 10/10

This is one where the studio vs the live experience is like night and day - really gained an appreciation for it watching the concert movie where he mashed it up with It

100% this
6.9 - I probably like the other version that was on the super deluxe more. The ending is acoustically funky.
10. I’m doubly amazed at this one after listening to the early version on the SDE. He took this track in a very avant garde direction compared to the original. What other pop star makes their songs LESS pop friendly?
10 - love the minimal approach of just drums, acoustic guitar & the harmonies.
Common knowledge fact: JFK,Jr. and bride Caroline Bessette played this song for their first dance at their wedding reception.

10 perfect lyrics
the accapella version is even better
The Early Vocal run through on the SOTT SDE is the absolute best.
OP - where can I find the final stats on the previous albums?
I’d like to know, as well.

8 - Great song, amazing vocals (studio and live, but especially live)
Favorite lyrics - "I never imagined that love would reign on me, And make me wanna settle down...."

10.(Early Vocal Run-Through) My "Theory" about this track:
This was a late 70's demo that was laying around. recorded the overdubs at the galpin road house (1986?)
The movie version is 🔥

7..... actually first "alright" song on the album i wouldn't skip...maybe just to hear that acoustic guitar at the end (which appears in full on the SDE's early run-through)

I used to watch this as a grainy bootleg clip over and over before the movie was available streaming. It's like church to me.
The album version pales in comparison to this concert movie mash up.
For me, it's like how This Must Be the Place by Talking Heads is SOOOOO much more iconic and emotional off Stop Making Sense vs Speaking in Tongues.
