i started here in 2022 for the nursing program. I didn't really like the area at first because it is pretty dead. the campus is a good size and you don't see many students during the day. the budlings are very nice and well kept.
So far, my experience has had its ups and downs, some professors were difficult, especially when it came to being more lenient when it came to personal issues and either a day extension or a late pass. But the professors who were lenient and understanding were the best ones at teaching, in my opinion.
I'm about to earn my AAS in Motion Picture, Television, and New Media Production with an emphasis in Feature Screenwriting. I recieved a President's Honors Scholarship, so I only had to pay for fees. I loved the screenwriting classes; they pushed me to be more vulnerable in my writing.
I really like Scottsdale Community College because of the different options I have for choosing classes. There are options like online, hybrid and in person. The advisors make it super easy to find the right classes.
Peacefully located on the reservation in Scottsdale Az. I absolutely love my experience here at SCC so far. My teachers are awesome, the campus is peaceful and my classes get me excited for my future career!
The school itself is very opening and so friendly to be around.. The campus feels like a true college experience from the great atmosphere to the relatable professors it all around is such a fun time.
As an adult returning to college for continuing education, I have had a wonderful experience with Scottsdale Community College. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, easily able to assist me in navigating the student portals. I had a good experience meeting with my program advisor and they were able to show me the ins and outs of my program, and provided me with insight as to what credits I need to complete to satisfy the MyPath2ASU transfer. I did experience some difficulty when first approaching the student portals and Scottsdale Community College website as navigating to the page I was looking for could become an intimidating task. However, after spending some time exploring, and after meeting with my advisor, I am more confident in my ability to find what I am looking for online.
My name is Elena Pedraza Castillo and I'm now a student at Scottsdale Community College. My time as a student has been great all around. When they have the availability, my professors have been able to help me when I run into any problems with my assignment.
I absolutely love the Scottsdale community as it offers a wide range of academic programs, some even including bachelor programs which is amazing for a community college. They are very responsive and easy to get in contact with. Classes are efficient, and overall a fantastic school.
I have overall loved my time at SCC. All of the professors have been super helpful whenever I had a handful of questions. I have taken more online classes then in person classes and all of my online classes have gone really smooth which makes my experience 10x better. One change I would love to see is maybe having more online classes offered for the later courses. For someone like me who works pretty much through all school hours taking in person classes has made making money a tad harder, but besides that i have absolutely loved SCC.
Personally, my experience has been very positive at Scottsdale Community College. I am in all online courses yet my professors are very accessible and quick to help no matter the time or question asked. Overall, while working full time, this has been a great school to do online schooling while still learning meaningful work with meaningful help.
Very nice campus, always clean and hardly ever busy. The cafeteria is also nice and clean, its not very big but I don't think thats really an issue because there arent many people. I haven't visited the other buildings as much but the health science building is nice and big.
I registered and enrolled for a non-credit cooking class and the process was abhorrent!! The application for a non-credit course should not take days to complete on my end and additional days to process on SCC's end. If you are applying to this school be prepared for a time investment, numerous phone calls, and several unanswered questions. When I submitted the application along with a copy of my passport, it was not expired. By the time my application was in a processed state my Passport was expired and I had to re-submit a copy of my new passport adding more undue time to the application process. Once I was finally able to enroll in the class, it was great. But Jeez Louise the enrollment process for, again, a non credit class really made me question my desire to attend.
Class sizes are very small. Because of this, teachers take the time to get to know students and understand how to help them thrive.
I’ve enjoyed my experience at Scottsdale Community College. They have tons of free services for their students and there are so many staff members that have your best interest at heart. They offer a good amount of scholarship money and have very good rates for tuition.
Challenging but helpful. Professors are very nice willing to help you in order to comprehend the class. Professors also make the class interesting which made me want to keep going to class. Counselors provide good information about the career I want to pursue when I visited to get information. I cannot wait to start studying at SCC.
The staff really cares about their students and supports them in what they do. I can only speak from my experience, but the community is really strong, vibrant, and diverse.
