- Mary F25 contributionsA breathtakingly beautiful villa set in a carefully manicured park with exciting historical objects spanning centuries. Features include half a frigate, a submarine, an amphitheatre built in the Roman style for open air performances, a cascade running down a ravine ending in a series of hammer ponds that can be reached via purposely built steps. This is an outdoor adventure in a natural setting with magnificent views of Garda Lake..Written October 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Flora U1 contributionBeautiful garden, great to go with kids (went with my toddler), but not great to take pushchairs due to the gravel and steps and elevation.Written September 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DUN01170Dublin, Ireland277 contributionsTruly unique. Wonderful collection of D'Annunzio memorabilia. The gardens are fascinating and the warship, so far from the sea, a spectacular sight. Excellent introductory film.Written July 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lgd23Runcorn, UK433 contributionsOur last visit was six years ago and since then the promenade has been upgraded with new tiling and lighting but the flowers that adorned the lights have gone. Shame.
The other addition from our previous stay was the monthly weekend market which meant for 3 days we couldn’t see the lake from the promenade. Very great shame as the view is fantastic whilst sipping a drink.
The promenade still retains its charm and being a quiet resort is very relaxing to wander along during the day unlike Garda,Limone and Malcesine.Written August 2, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It consists of hundreds of carvings, statues and dolls of Baby Jesus dating back to the 1500's. They are put together very reverently and the museum is clearly a labor of love and devotion. I think many of these remarkable statues were rescued by the owners of the museum, and restored to their original beauty.
If you are even a little bit religious, I think you will really enjoy visiting. And even if you are not, to see so many different styles and depictions of baby Jesus from over the centuries is still worth the visit.Written October 8, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Best visited at 11:40 a.m. so as to get outside to the suspended viewpoint at the rear of the church, taking in the view and sitting there to await the Angelus bells which play a surprisingly beautiful hymnWritten December 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David HBury, UK1,637 contributionsNot as long as the walks at Salo or Garda, but nevertheless nice and quiet for strolling along and admiring the views over to the island and the eastern part of the lake.Written September 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarianneMouNorthampton, UK160 contributionsWe were out walking when we passed Villa Alba. There is a notice board outside which gives details of the significance of the building.
The building it self is very attractive and is up some steps which provide a good photo opportunity.
The building is situated along a very busy road so be careful crossing as it can be a bit difficult to get across from the other side of the road.
I am not sure it is worth a special visit unless you are interested in architectural design.. I think it is used for meetings and events nowadays.Written August 5, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He is sharp in guiding you through the airport to find him, keeps you updated at the arrival and welcomes you warmly. He saved my life today by picking me up on the road and taking me to the airport when I was let down by the car of a friend on a hot Sunday afternoon: he was available and he immediately offered his service without hesitation! Last but not least: he is very very kind and respectful!Written April 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
