Dave Matthews – Associate Professor Surface Design and Engineering – has been appointed Distinguished Chair Professor at Feng Chia University (FCU), Taiwan as of 1 August 2020. The visiting appointment is a unique recognition of the collaboration he has developed with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at FCU and will enable us to strengthen both our research and education ties with FCU and other universities and industry in Taiwan in the coming years.
Dave will continue to focus his research with FCU on combining novel coating technologies with designed surfaces topologies, to produce hybrid surfaces for improving the functional performance of a wide variety of products and applications, in line with current research and education portfolios within ET.
