DeKalb School of the Arts Reviews
Rating 4.01 out of 5 222 reviews
I had an amazing experience here at Dekalb School of the Arts. I went to this school for five years, and this was the absolute best opportunity I had. There are always challenges everywhere, but everything was quickly resolved and handled with care at DSA. Everyone was always kind and wanted to make sure each student’s education was taken care of. Teachers and students had good relationships, and students feel very comfortable going to their teachers to ask for help or just wanted to talk about things. I would like to change some of the facilites that we have at DSA. The school is not always air conditioned or heated properly and some of the facilities that students have are not adequate for their arts. Every place has their strengths and weaknesses, but I truly feel that Dekalb School of the Arts was one of the best choices that my family made for my life and whatever I choose to do next.
Dekalb School of the Arts was not a typical highschool experience. We did not have sports teams or typical social events. Instead, our high school experience was shaped by a complete immersion in the arts. We were treated like true professionals and given the resources necessary to shape our talents to their potential. Despite a lack of funding, students were given every possible opportunity to achieve our goals. My time there has been so helpful in my university life. I am now pursuing my art degree with the same ambition and diligence that DSA taught me.
My time at DeKalb School of the Arts (DSA) filled me with gratitude for a profoundly shaped academic journey and character. I had a dedicated faculty fostering an unparalleled support system that empowered me to pursue passions, and embrace growth. DSA stands out for its commitment to academic excellence, even as an arts school. Invested mentors, facilitated the development of talents, provided through numerous extracurricular opportunities. The school emphasizes character building, with values of integrity and responsibility woven into daily life, encouraging compassion and empathy extending education beyond tests. DSA's close-knit community offered lifelong friendships and a sense of belonging where I felt supported and genuinely connected. Preparing for the next chapter, I carry more than a diploma, but experiences and lessons shaping my future. My heartfelt thanks to DSA for being a nurturing ground for dreams, unlocking potential, and empowering me to make a positive impact.
