Reviews
- Nice solid vinyl press of the Marvelettes’ swan song. Stands on its own as a MOR inclined Motown LP; but all the cover songs used here sound better in the hands of the other capable artists. When listening to “Someday We’ll Be Together”, at once you are graced with the more ornate updated Motown backing track. However, it becomes clear that Wanda Young was no Diana Ross. Just as she proved she was no ‘Baby’ with “How Heartaches Are Made”. Even the best cover, “So I Can Love You”, sounds a bit frilly compared to the first, raw Emotions version. A nice gem that lightly resembles Philly Soul, it was still done well past the girls’ prime.
