Extraordinary Idol Pop Music Videos (Part Three)
This truly charming and humorous MV starts off with Wonder Girls watching the MV for JYP's She Was Pretty. They are mocking around a bit, but not too seriously. Soon we switch over to one of Wonder Girls' biggest hits: The featured track off their debut album: Tell Me. To me it's one of the funniest and most entertaining Music Videos existing. The song itself is rather simple, but effective Teen Pop, which presents the well-known K-Pop girl group at their most innocent and cute (Some of the hairdos might appear a bit questionable, but then: Tell Me was released a long time ago). The first WG member you get to hear is SUNMI, closely followed by 안소희 [Ahn So-hee], who also acts as the Super Hero Girl in the MV. The chorus features two solo lines each by Ha:tfelt and 선예 [SUNYE]. HyunA had left the group shortly after the first version of the song and MV had been recored, to become part part of the highly influential 4minute. Her departure also explains why SUNMI was given more solo parts than the others. JYP asked HyunA who should replace her vocals for Tell Me and she picked SUNMI. (Which is hardly surprising as the two were best of friends and are to this day. HyunA could be considered as one of the first and most engaged SUNMI fan ever). The only heck is that the original MV-upload (that had a far superior resolution) was replaced some weeks later in favour of this rather Lo-quality version. Why that happened remains mysterious...Published
