Inspector Gadget is a French-Canadian-American animated television series, following the misadventures of a clumsy, dim-witted police inspector of the same name, who has been given a variety of bionic enhancements, which he can never completely control, making him more bumbling.

The original 1982 title card before it went into regular airing.

  • Inspector Gadget (voiced by Don Adams): A part human part tool who is a detective and a clumsy one. He has a variety of gismos and gadgets to help him on the job, and while at times he can get himself in trouble, he is still able to fight crime and save the town.
  • Penny (voiced by Mona Marshall in the pilot episode, Cree Summer Francks in season 1 and Holly Berger in season 2): Gadget's crime solving niece
  • Brain (voiced by Frank Welker): Penny's dog
  • Chief Quimby (voiced by John Stephenson in the pilot episode, Dan Hennessey in season 1 and Maurice LaMarche in season 2): The Chief of Police who cannot stand Gadget's clumsiness.
  • Doctor Claw (voiced by Frank Welker and Don Francks): The faceless arch enemy of Gadget who constantly sends out his goons to stop the Inspector. He sits in a chair and has a metal hand (instead of a claw like his name) yet always manages to escape before the police show up.
  • MAD Cat (voiced by Frank Welker):
