Reviews
- Edited one month agoFeel like I need to write a review for this since it get's very little love especially after DSD gate. When I want to demo my system to friends and family I put this one, specifically Tin Pan Alley, which benefits from quiet super vinyl. Feel free to look at my collection on discogs you will see I own hundreds of audiophile and analogue records, yet this is my #1 demo record.
- Edited 6 months agoSame deal as Texas Flood on the OneStep. I love the album itself. It sounds big, but I still think it could’ve sounded better if they tamed the overblown bass and sizzle. (perhaps that’s a digital thing or mastering or both). I switch in the EQ for these SRV OneSteps to correct it.
Also, at more than twice the original asking price of the AP, it makes this release redundant, especially after Mofigate. Quality control is still an issue. Yet another OneStep with seam splits and also a 10mm brown blob embedded in the vinyl on side A. Sheesh! - I own around a 1000 records...
And this MoFi One Step is in my top 10 best sounding records.
The album itself is of course also incredible.
The dynamics, soundstage, punch, air and bass oomph of this pressing are very impressive. 👍 - Edited 3 years agoReally excited for this one. Unfortunately there's some surface marks and noise on my new in shrink copy (#6272). Will give it a clean and see if I can cut down on the noise. Besides those facts, the music is impressive as always with SRV (first mofi so not sure if they're all this good). The separation of the instruments and vocals are really apparent and the drums do have some punch. Everything in the packaging was in good condition and feels like the money you spent was well allocated to protect your investment. The box is a little big for standard double oversize sleeves.
- SOOOO Good! The only bummer is that both of my inner jackets where split on the bottoms from shipping I guess. Still Sounds Phenomenal Though!
- Came here to say, damn, drums man, too bloody damn good. But also BASS and separation. Forgot to mention the silence of the vinyl. Wow. Are they all this good?
