Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This enormous Place was created by the urban renewal of Haussmann in the mid 19th Century. It is where several major boulevards come together with a huge statue/fountain in the center. Theaters and a neighborhood were torn down to create it. Today it can be the focal point of demonstrations. We saw a group dancing at dusk. Big cafes/restaurants surround, as well as hotels and an armory. Cool neighborhoods nearby, some of my favorite areas.

If one square encapsulates everything I love about Paris it's Place De La Republique .
Named after the First,Second and Third Republic's ,it's the most famous square in the 11th Arrondissement ,in Paris to be honest ,the square is dominated by the magnificent Monument A La Republique ,a great monument topped by the statue of Marianne ,a young and fictional French women who's considered the embodiment of the French Republic ,all around this square are great looking buildings and some fantastic cafés,pubs, bars and restaurants and it's popular ,many great and famous streets and boulevards lead into this square including Boulevard De Magenta,Rue Leon Jouhaux,Avenue De la Republique ,Boulevard Voltaire ,Rue Du Temple ,Passage Du Vendome to name but some ,it's most definitely a square to check out if you're planning a holiday to Paris or in the 11th Arrondissement .

Staying in the 11th arrondissement, we used this as our landmark anchor as we navigated the streets around the area. It became easy to get our bearings as we used the statue as a guide. Great access to the metro via the Republique station which conveniently covers lines 3,8,9 and 11. The square itself is vast and was always full of activity. Groups having peaceful demonstrations, family gatherings, bikes skateboards and people hanging out meant we always felt safe in the area. The perimeter is surrounded by restaurants so plenty of choice. We bought fresh fruit from the sellers on some of the corners and it was delicious to sit out in the evening watching the crowds pass by.

This is a huge open square and there is often something going on here, a concert, a demonstration, or even some outdoor dancing. I love the neighborhoods all around as they are lively. This is also a crossroads where bus lines and Metro lines come together.

This large and bustling square is surrounded by shops and eateries. There is nothing to see here other than the large statue of Marianne in the middle - personification of the French Republic apparently!

Located where the 3rd, 10th and 11th, Arr converge, is this massive square, with a monument dedicated to personification of France, the surrounds of the square have a real vibe about, it very popular, with visitors and locals alike, also, the ground zero for many a protest.

Place de la République is a public square in Paris. The centrepiece is a monument to France. At the top of this monument stands a female figure which is the personification of France. It is a lovely spot. Plenty of cafes in the area.

I've been to Paris before and didn't have time to visit this side of town. This time, my hotel was located right across from the square and I just loved the neighborhood. It is a beautiful square with lots of cafes and restaurants around it. It is connected to many subway lines and walking distance to other attractions. We got bad/rainy weather but I am sure that on a sunny day it is worth a visit to just sit down and people watch.

Huge in size and just off from the Canal St Martin, worth a look. Traces French revolutionary history through bronze plaques all around the monument.

I love this area as it is a crossroads where the boulevards come together and lots of Metro lines. Always something going on the in the Place, often demonstrations for something. Lots of good restaurants and cafes around.
