Buying Japanese concert tickets abroad before trip

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Japan in March next year and would like to buy tickets for a concert playing while I am there. It’s at the Tokyo dome and very confused on how I can purchase tickets. I think there is now a lottery open but think that’s only for Japanese residents? It’s a big K-pop band and think it will be sold out to by the time I arrive in the country so seeing if I can get tickets now before the trip. Anyone done this before?

Thanks in advance.

Which concert on what day? I don't see any concert scheduled at Tokyo Dome in March. Maybe Blackpink in April?

Hi, it is the Blackpink concert yes either 8/9 April and will be in Japan from 25th March. I tried looking and all I can see from their official website is a lottery and use an app 5 days before but think this is with a Japanese SIM card as a mobile number for the AnyPASS app to be setup. Thanks.

You'll just have to try your luck with any or all ticket agents listed on the official website:

AnyPass is an app anybody can download. When you register, you need to send an SMS from your phone and you will be able to receive tickets on your phone.

As a caution, there are companies that offer tickets to events like this with large mark-ups. I encountered someone that paid US$250 for a basic seat a the sumo via a re-seller (around a 500% mark-up), and a poor lady from SA who paid way over US$1000 for a set of four concert tickets for a show in Osaka - she was so embarrassed that she paid four times what they were worth she couldn't tell her husband. There are sharks out there.

Hey, I'm in Australia having the same problem. I'm moving to Japan in March so have the option or the Tokyo or Osaka concerts yet seems impossible to buy.

At this rate I will end up buying second hand on Viagogo...really isn't international friendly.

Let me know if you find a way

Thanks

It is very difficult for non Japanese residents to buy a ticket in advance for big music events. As a Shiina Ringo fan I was member of a dedicated international Facebook group and a Australian fan who lived in Japan bought me a ticket… On sites like this you can by resale tickets and , it’s a lottery, you can buy last minute tickets for mostly half of the price https://www.ticket.co.jp/sys/d/142.htm
