- grasscutter98Lakefield, Canada18 contributionsHave been going there for years for their berries and other garden vegetables. Always a pleasure. A little hard to get to but good signage on the way to Buckhorn. Worth a visit to Whetungs at Curve Lake while close.Written August 23, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Oriental_GuestWashington DC, DC110 contributionsWe went there with four families; including kids. This is an excellent place for a perfect day out in summer. Very well maintained and clean. The washroom closes at 6.30 pm, which could be a challenge for the visitors. It has an excellent fishing dock, especially for kids, as you do not need to go down to the bank for fishing.Written August 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roxanne OMilton, Canada285 contributionsVery overgrown. The boardwalk is only about 60 m long, and overgrown bushes hide your view. The observation tower is also rickety. Not really worth the effort.Written August 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SteveMirnFort Collins, CO328 contributionsThis is an interesting museum in a historically significant building. It's small, but very well done. The museum was closed when we showed up and the volunteer was just leaving. She saw the disappointment on our faces and came back to open the church for us. She was highly enthusiastic about their collection. There is no admission, but they gladly accept donations.Written August 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JRGLCurve Lake36 contributionsDue to Covid there is a limit of 3 customers in the store at time, so we got there before opening to wait outside, good thing we did because when we left there was lineup
12 yr old daughter needed swimsuits, we got 3 different ones that you would never find at Giant Tiger or Walmart.
Staff were so helpful, patient and friendly.
Huge selections of swimsuits, (for all different bodies and ages), shoes, hats, coverups, sunglasses, mens underwear.
Nice to see some Made in Canada brands too.Written June 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only complaint, any message i’vet had in other places the bed was warm, usually a heating pad. The message bed at sunshrine wasn’t warm. Other than this everything was good. Staff friendly & helpful.Written July 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MissyTravelPantsPeterborough, Canada1 contributionWhat a great shop with such a varying selection of fabulous products! I went for the Miss Mustardseed paint and stayed for quite a while lost in all the fab products. The owner is a delight to chat with! A "must go to shop" when in cottage country!Written January 23, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kristi W17 contributionsKnowledgable staff, great book selection. Happenstance is very involved in the Lakefield Literary Festival which takes place every July. A changing array of top Canadian writers are featured each year in various settings, including Lakefield College. Children's events also are featured. In addition to selling books, they also sell yarn and knitting goods.
This store also shares half its space with a great natural food store called The Pantry. Every dietary need is provided for, along with a good assortment of bulk baking items, an excellent selection of bulk spices, frozen quality meats, cheeses and Kawartha Dairy ice cream by the tub. Be sure to try the chocolate covered tube jubes.Written August 18, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
