I love Fairview Heights because it is a small suburban town where the people and community are connected. I see a lot of construction which can only mean our town is adapting and changing for the better.
Fairview Heights is my home, plain and simple. It's a pretty standard Midwestern suburb. There is lots of restaurants and shopping in the city too, with the closest mall in the area. I always look forward to the holiday season in Fairview because people come from all around to do there holiday shopping here. Fairview is the city that many come too, but few people in in. The school system isn't good and the neighborhoods are old. In general, most of the building in Fairview Heights are old, having been built in the 70s. Compared to the surrounding suburbs, I would say that Fairview Heights is more diverse than most and if you work in St. Louis, it's an easy 15 minute drive to downtown, which is super convenient. Fairview Heights isn't perfect, but my family has been living in this region for 5 generations, so for me, it's enough.
Fairview Heights is a very open area with much to do around and close enough to the city of St Louis without having to be IN the city. Best of both worlds
