Buddy’s is so much fun! It’s like the local Cheers. Logan is a great, attentive, wonderful bartender. Mrs Sharon makes amazing food in the kitchen and that includes the best burger in town! There is no place like Buddy's in McComb, MS. A "Cheers" atmosphere of sorts. The owners Beth and Jo will make you feel right at home. Known for Tamales but everything on the menu is great. The club is a must have. Any day is...a good day at Buddy's but if your fortunate enough to be around for Crawfish, boiled shrimp or oysters, then your in for a real treat. Excellent service and entertainment. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is great with a burger that is fair in price and sizeable.
we celebrated husbands birthday and have a back patio so grandkids could also come, owners are wonderful people, cool in summer, warm in winter, has band from time to time, and also serve food
I really wanted to like this place. really. We went there a lot when the REAL buddy still owned it ( about a dozen years ago).although it still looks mostly the same and the "new" management tries really hard we were kind of disappointed. the...hamburger was OK. the fish was tasty but the batter on it was very plain. onion rings had the same tasteless batter. the salad had BACOS in it! how hard would it be to use real bacon? come on. beer selection is limited. the tamales, however, are as good as they used to be - maybe a little better. the staff is very nice, I wish I could say better things but its just not that great.More
Buddy's has a unique atmosphere, Has some pretty good bands, and is a place you should visit when you come to McComb.
Always remember, every review is only ONE person's opinion of a SINGLE visit, so keep that in mind. In this case, I was torn about doing a review at all, since I am not certain Buddy's should be classified in the Restaurant listings, at all....They are a bar. They do have a limited menu available on Wednesday/Thursday and Friday evenings ONLY. We went hoping to try their tamales, which luckily they DO offer on Saturday evenings (which is when we visited) We were there early (6 PM), and were the only people in the bar (other than the bartender). He was in the process of prepping the tamales, so we decided to wait for those. We ordered up a couple Corona lights and enjoyed visiting with one local who came in for a couple glasses of wine on his way home from work (he was obviously a very regular customer). The beer was cold. When the tamales were delivered, they are served 'plain' with a side of saltines. No chili option as we've seen on the tamale trail farther north in Mississippi. The tamales are good. Nice level of heat, but not "burn your lips" hot. I just don't think most folks would consider Buddy's to be a Restaurant, or even to consider it 'pub grub'. Not a bad experience, at all, just hard to 'rate' in this class of trade. All that being said, the check for two beers and a dozen tamales and tip came to only $25, so reasonable for what was offered.More
The cook knows what she's doing and the bartender/manager Logan is tops! Easy to find for out of towners.
This is by far my favorite place in Mccomb to eat. There is nothing to not love about this place. The food is amazing, the drinks are the best, and the people working there are awesome. I don't always take time to eat there as...I call in orders frequently but when I do eat there it is a fun but relaxed environment. If you haven't been, you gotta try it. Don't miss out on McComb's best kept secret. The only suggestion I could possibly have is I wish they were open for lunch.More
When I am in McComb, I make sure I go to Buddy's. It's a great place to relax after work and enjoy a beverage. The tamales are legendary and a must when I am in town... Excellent selection of beer and whiskey...
This used to be the spot when I was in college.. Wednesday nights draw a crowd.. a better group of people come here rather than the other "drinking establishments" in McComb. . I enjoy buddy's for the friendly staff and good beer selection. . They...are doing everything right .. people in mccomb just need to come here more oftenMore
