      Irish Wish Reviews

I really thought this was super charming.

      Full Review | May 10, 2024

You've got a very charming Lohan, some lovely Irish scenery, and a Hallmark plot. And if that's what you're here for, you'll get it.

Destined to become a rainy hungover Sunday go-to for those who desire a brain-off love buzz. And that is all.

A bargain-basement romcom that does its star no favors.

It was determined in about 2005 that Lohan couldn’t carry a movie, which remains the case today.

      a diverting trip

…a solid entry in the file that links Netflix audiences to fans of cheesy, whimsical Hallmark movies…deserves a pass for ticking the cheerful, jolly, silly boxes in its chosen category with some skill...

Irish Wish provides the fantasy its viewers want by not giving them the fantasy they want.

About as limp as rom-coms come.

      Full Review | Mar 23, 2024

It's very formulaic, but as much as I felt like I should be annoyed by this movie, I really wasn't. So I give it props for that.

[Lohan] plays Maddie as someone for whom you want the best. And sometimes that’s all you need a romantic-comedy heroine to be.

      Full Review | Mar 22, 2024

It's polished, it's saccharine, it's predictable as hell, and it's also a bit rubbish. Lohan's charm isn't able to elevate the source material enough to recommend people watch.

Chemistry and charm are in short supply, and this frothy, frivolous oddity seems purposely designed to be watched in the background while you’re doing something else -- anything else.

      Full Review | Original Score: 2/5 | Mar 21, 2024

      It’s silly, but entirely inoffensive.

Irish Wish does not really add anything new to the genre but it's still an entertaining comedy.

      Full Review | Original Score: 3.5/5 | Mar 21, 2024

It makes for a very amusing and enjoyable 2 hours of television and it doesn't hurt that Speleers and Lohan have terrific chemistry.

      Full Review | Original Score: 6/10 | Mar 21, 2024

This disposable, fantasy-light Netflix rom-com timed to St. Patrick’s Day is stridently forgettable, even if the charms of Lindsay Lohan and her BFF Ayesha Curry, and others in the cast, are not.

      Full Review | Original Score: 1.5/4 | Mar 20, 2024

[Damian] doesn't show much talent to keep the comedy afloat, there are a lot of cliches, not just in the soundtrack, and the fight scene between Maddie's two romantic interests is grossly pathetic. [Full review in Spanish]

No threat to becoming a rom-com classic by any stretch of imagination. But what it does do is keep the early days of the Lohanaissance alive, and reminds viewers how her incomparable charm offers promise for better days and projects to come.

In 'Irish Wish', Saint Brigid is implied to have a wicked sense of humor. Take this as you will, but I'm mostly convinced that this movie is entirely a result of her cheeky animus.
