This place has several fishing ponds for different levels of fishing and lots of birds to see. It is all flat and has mostly concrete or pavement walkways. You can get off the trail to fish on a dirt path. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Last Friday morning I took 5 of my young grandchildren fishing. Ages 3-9. It was so fun. Everybody but 3 year old Kate caught one or more trout. We were there about 2 hours and took home 7 trout. I filleted them and my daughter prepared them they way I taught her. The trout were a big hit. So nice to live one mile away from a fun fishing spot that families can enjoy. It is kept clean and stocked with trout. There is also a bass pond and a catch and release trophy pond. Clean clear water and a safe place to take young ones for their first positive fishing experience.

Nice place to take a walk, look at the ducks and listen to the geese. Lots of fishermen. Bathrooms could use a more regular cleaning.

Best thing about Wilson Springs Ponds (Wilson’s Drain) is that if you don’t have time to get out of town and still want to show someone a good fishing experience, this is the place to go. It features fishing, bird watching, good location for a picnic, good parking and restrooms. Yes, restrooms when you are out fishing, imagine that! It has a paved path that makes it both stroller friendly and handicap accessible. There are four primary ponds; three open fishing and one that is catch and release. There are a couple of docks for kids to fish off of, as well as more ‘natural’ settings for the avid fisherman. It is a great place to get back to nature without having to drive to the country. Trout are stocked throughout the drain area (all ponds and Wilson’s Creek). Typically, you can catch fish 9”-12” long. Of course, you can and will catch smaller and the occasional larger one as well. If curious, the stocking dates and quantities are available on line. There are no day-use fees and it is a great place to just go for a walk. If you wish to fish, be sure that you have a current license. Although, the Fish and Game office isn’t far away and licenses from single day through lifetime are available there Monday through Friday. It isn’t set up for overnights, but this keeps it fresh every day. If you want to do something educational, the fish hatchery is nearby as well. There are plenty of trees for shade in the summer and plenty of trails for the year around experience. Our daughter is a ‘birder’ and she visits this area when in town. Remember that while it ties into the green belt, it is not of the greenbelt. Meaning that bikes, skates and skateboards aren’t allowed throughout the drain.

Beautiful park and lots of fishing. There are several ponds and lots of exploring to do out there. Fishing is good if they are biting. The ponds are spring fed so the water is clean. Good hang out afternoon

This is a very relaxing place to go. There are several docks that you can fish off of. There are lots of trails for nice long walks along the water. They even have a catch and release trophy pond with huge fish in it.
