Midsomer Murders - Death in Disguise - Detailed Synopsis

MIDSOMER MURDERS

DEATH IN DISGUISE
DETAILED SYNOPSIS

Ian Craigie and William Carter were in prison together and later founded the Lodge of the Golden Windhorse as a refuge for damaged victims (often wealthy) of society. Ten years later when Carter demands the half share on which they had originally agreed, he is found dead at the bottom of the stairs.

Barnaby and Troy find the inmates are a strange lot. May Cuttie believes herself to be a reincarnation of a Roman centurion. Arno Gibbs, a former solicitor's clerk, is in charge of the administration of the Lodge and is in love with May. Ken and Heather Beavers, convicted former brothel keepers now augment their pocket money by secretly selling tales of the commune to the local paper and Suhami is the daughter of ruthless billionaire Guy Gamelin.

Three newcomers arrive at the Golden Windhorse; Guy Gamelin, his stoned ex-wife Felicity and Christopher Wainwright a BBC cameraman in recovery from the traumas of Rawanda. When Craigie is mysteriously murdered in front of a roomful of people, the first death looks like it may have been deliberate as well and no one is above suspicion.
